BIT BY BIT

The campus is very huge and full of plants and trees. You can feel the oxygen in the air. The administration is a bit conservative. They can be more helpful and open-minded. The syllabus can be restructured. My overall experience has been good with BIT Mesra.

Course curriculum is a bit obsolete. Some new subjects are also there but some are irrelevant. In first year all the students are forced to study all the subjects from different streams but Now they have implemented choice based credit system. Exams are very fair. Practicals and theory both are given appropriate weightage.

Placement for Cse and IT streams is good but for other branches it is not satisfactory. Alumni of our college are placed in big tech giants like google, facebook, amazon, salesforce, intuit etc but most of them are from cse and it. Our College do offers some internships but I don't have any experience regarding it.

BITOTSAV : Annual cultural fest of BIT. It has a huge footfall and charming nights like band night, pro night, edm night etc. PANTHEON : Annual technical fest of our college with a lot of exciting events. Hack-A-BIT : East India's largest students' Hackathon which will go bigger this year.

The fee structure is a bit expensive as it is a government funded institute but not a complete governmental institute. Fee structure gets updated every year. Basically the fees keep increasing every year.

There is Birla Scholaeship for students with less family income provided they secure good marks in the semester examination. Based on the marks there are different rebate slabs. So many students avail this scholarship. There are multiple banks including SBI inside the campus who offer loans on standard interest rates.

Labs in BIT Mesra are rich enough. They have latest tools and equipments. As far as sports activities are concerned, there is a huge sports complex with a number of courts and a nice gym. There are so many clubs and societies in our college who keep organising plethora of events every month.

The hostel facility is average but okayish. Mess food is better than average but not excellent. Some of the hostels are very old and are required to be renovated or reconstructed. Overall hostel and mess food is okayish.

The alumni network of BIT is too good and productive. This ia one of the best things about BIT. They keep helping and funding the activities inside the campus. The keep guiding their juniors and most of them help us in every possible way.

I cracked JEE main with rank 7546 and got admission in CSE branch through Josaa counselling process. I filled my preferences on josaa site and was alloted this course. I deposited the fee, completed the process of document verification and got admission.

The older faculties are not up to the mark but under the TEQUIP scheme of MHRD India, some new teachers have been appointed who are really good and master of their fields. So overall it is okayish but it's improving.
