Remarks

The college is really good, infrastructure of the college is also very good, classrooms are very big and there is a enough space for sitting inside the classroom. professors are very helpful. They are very much educated. Union fee should be low.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college is under Calcutta university. So the exam structure of Calcutta university is applicable in this college. That is semester system, total 6 semesters for B.com. The time for one semester is 6 month.

Placement Experience

This is a A grade college, ranked by NAAC. Every year many companies use to visit in our college for placement purpose. Deloitte is one of them. Beside this the students of the college get many opportunities to the others sectors.

College Events

Many social and cultural program are organized in this college through out the year. i.e :- 1) Foundation day of college, 2 ) A three Day quest , 3)two days Social , 4)saraswati puja , 5)sports etc etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee of this college is very cheap compare to other colleges. But the charge of Union is high. College takes ?865 at the time of admission and then ?525 per semester. And also a examination fee ?330 per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The state government offers a scholarship for the students who get atleast 75% in the last examination. Another scholarship offered by the college for financially backward students a sum of Rs 2000 per year.

Campus Life

Main problem of the college is the college doesn't have a playground. However the college have a small campus in front of the college and also a small garden there. There are a lab of computer for IT students of 3rd semester.

Alumni/Alumna

The Senior students are very friendly and also very helpful, most of them are good. They also help us for studying purpose. There is not any existence of Ragging in our college by the seniors.

Admission

You should have a minimum 75% number to apply for this college in the last exam that is HS. After this application , the college publish merit list on their website. Then as per your name on the merit list you will be directed to come for admission.

Faculty

The college is really a good college.The infrastructuur and the atmosphere of the college is really well. Professors are very friendly and helpful and also the senior as well. The college is well connected by road and railway station i.e Sealdah railway station

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
