Bokaro steel City College : An insight view

Positive thing about my college is , it provides better opportunity to a marginalized student who has talent but dont get enough chance to show and develop it. This college is also good because anyone can afford its course fee and study higher. Also the NCC course facility, that is, National Cadet Corps course is a famuos course or i can say training among those who want to serve country by joining defense forces like Indian Army, Indian Air Force or Indian Navy. In this course , cadets get to know about the tough regime of a soldier life and they have to do drill exercise and weapon training in this course. This i love because my college provide this facility. Negative part is that , infrastructure is not at par and cooperation between senior and junior student is not good. Also the information sharing is also very bad, this should be change and every single student should get to know about every small notification related to the course or co-curricular activities or events in the campus. Thats all i know and learn from my college till now.

I am pursuing Bachelor in Science but the exam structure for all steams like Bachelor in Commerce and Bachelor in Arts are all same. As per my view, ours course is mainly based on the theoretical part of Mathematics subject since my honours subject is Mathematics. I have to study about several theorems and numericals based on these theorems. But we dont have practical classes for these theorems. Also we dont got to know about the use of these theorems in real life. And exam is conducted in two phases: one is internal, that is , this exam is conducted internally in the college campus by our own professors. Then after internal exam, external exam is conducted. In this, we are allotted with exam centre in another college of the same university and proper schedule and admit card are given for this exam. Also, if the subject contain practical exam then practical exam of internal as well as external is conducted in our college , no other exam centre is allotted for this exam.

Yeah, placement are provided to the students who are about to pass from the college. Different categories have different job opportunities, here, different categories means different streams from which students belongs to. Means, arts candidate are provided with that jobs which are suitable according to their knowledge, same for the science and commerce students. But, one thing i want to mention here is that the companies which comes to the college are not renowned brands. Small companies come and because of that one cant expect luxurious life from the salary he or she will get from the job they are provided with. So most of the students turn down these offers because they think that they should get more salary in order to secure their future. About internship, as per my knowledge , internships are not provided by this college.

Many events and fests are regularly happens in the campus. Before talkjng about the programs and events, one thing i want yo say here is that not many students got to know about the programs or events which are going to happen in the campus. Bacause of which many students miss the opportunity to show the talent they have like singing, dancing, dabting, poem reciting and many more like that. So, coming to the event, when i got admission in this college , i was pretty sure that Freshers Party is going to happen in the beginning, but contrary to my thought , no Freshers party happened , not even a small function was organised for the newcomers. That was very disappointing thing for me. Recently , Saint Ravidas Jayanti was an event i came to know about, but before that when this event is going to happen, nobody knew except the seniors. But, farewell is timely happen here. This is the reality of events and fests in the college.

Fee structure is pretty much feasible for the student. Not too much expensive and many students who cant afford a premium college came here to study since the college provide good education in very low fee as compared to other college of this type.

I didnt have opted for any scholarship or loan facility from the college. And because of this, i dont know about any scholarship provided by the college. But yes, if any one who have certificate of Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe they will get some discount in the course fee, and this discount in the course is provided by most of the colleges in our country.

Games and sports not happen in the college frequently, but the college provide opportunity to play and show their talent to university level. Next month , many sports events are going to happen and those who perform well in this event , then they will get a chance to play at university level. But talking about the infrastructure for traning and practice of various sports , this college has no facility for traning and practice. So one who has their own practice will only perform in the game as one will get no help from the college side.

As per my experience, i hardly got any help from the seniors. Even seniors sometimes want our help when they want to protest against the college administration. When senior arrange any event , they dont even bother to tell any junior about that, it's our responsibility to know about that. I dont like this attitude of seniors. And as per my knowledge, there is no alumni network for the passed out student who can connect with the present student and guide and share their experience and knowledge.

Firstly, i came to know about the admission through a website known as chancellorportal.nic.in. Then i fill the online admission form and paid the admission fee. Then i went to college in order to give my documents required for the admission in this course that is in Bachelor in Science. Then again i had to pay the course fee of first year in advance. And then i got my roll number and identity card and then i am allowed to attend the class then.

As per my course of Science stream , my honours paper is Mathematics , and for Mathematics , there are two professors : first is Tiwari sir and another one is Singh sir. Both of them are very helpful , supporting and genius of Mathematics. Anyone can ask anything related to course and exams and they give answer with ease. But , at the time of exam , these very teachers became no one like calm and cool, very strict in exam hall and no one can even turn around for just a single time.
