I applied to the following universities: Imperial College London - Got admission University College London - Got admission King's College London - Got admission University of Edinburgh - Got admission University of Amsterdam - Got admission University of Maryland - Got rejected Carnegie Mellon University - Got rejected I believe I got rejected from the above two because they had the earliest deadlines (in mid December), and I was awaiting the result of a paper under review, so my profile was a lot weaker. At all the other colleges, the deadline was later, and my profile was stronger. Reputation, both in studies and career prospects,s stood out over the rest. Straightforward process - Apply online and list referees; apply once all the LoRs have been sent. They require first class honours degree (or equivalent) in a computing-related subject. This is equal to 8.0 GPA if you are from a tier 1 college in India or 8.5 otherwise. They are happy with a wide variety of English tests, for example, a 7.5 in IELTS or a 100 overall in TOEFL I applied to the 2024 intake, because I would have just finished my bachelor's in 2024, and I wanted to do a Master's straight after I applied in the second part of January. I believe I got conditional acceptance in March/April, and I needed to pay a deposit to confirm my admission. 5 colleges, admitted to 4: University of Leeds, University of Nottingham, University of Glasgow and Imperial College London, all for genetics/biotech. I was rejected from the MSc Biotechnology at the University of Edinburgh – this was because I did not have a strong maths component in undergrad which they required, and I was asked for proof of this post-application, but my modules did not support their strong math requirement for the course. Ranking and specific course in human genetics, which was an important specialization after a broader B.Sc. in Zoology Admission criteria – SOP, 2 LORs, CGPA and transcripts, and personal interview with 2 faculty. An IELTs score was needed: 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in each. For Delhi University grads, the minimum CGPA cutoff for an unconditional offer was 7.5, which I crossed. This may change with years and with the undergrad university of the student. Very smooth experience; college was very proactive in getting back during admissions time period 2023 intake, as I was graduating in 2023 and I went straight to MSc from B.Sc. I applied to 3 colleges – Imperial College London (accepted), University College London (accepted) and King's College London (accepted). All of these colleges are in Central London. I was admitted to all of them. I was not rejected from any college so I cannot say. Imperial College London was the highest ranked among the colleges. It was STEM-only so I thought it would be a more focused university for what I wanted to study (Biomedicine). The BSc Medical Biosciences course was also structured very differently in ICL compared to other unis, allowing for more self-study and a more flexible schedule that I could plan for myself, which also gave me more time to do extracurriculars. I started writing my personal statement in October and wrote many drafts and asked for feedback on each. Application status: Warwick Business School – Admitted Imperial College London – Admitted University of Edinburgh – Rejected King’s College London – Rejected Confirmed admissions: Warwick Business School, Imperial College London. Rejections: University of Edinburgh, King’s College London. Reason for rejections (in my opinion): Both Edinburgh and King’s mentioned that my profile was strong, but they felt I would be a better fit for higher-ranked universities, which is why they didn’t take me forward. I had an offer from Warwick first, but when I got into Imperial, I chose it straight away. The name, ranking, and especially the London location made all the difference for me. Intake applied to: I applied for the September 2024 intake. I chose this because it’s the main intake for my program, and most career events, networking opportunities, and internships are aligned with this timeline. Admission timeline: I submitted my application early september 2024. After submitting my documents, I was invited for the Kira interview within a few weeks. By mid november, I was asked for my transcripts and to pay the initial deposit. I applied to the following universities: Imperial College London – admitted London Business School – rejected For LBS, you need a great GMAT/GRE score. My score was decent, and I knew I would struggle to achieve more than this, as I was working full-time and could only devote limited time outside of work for preparing. My work experience was in a start-up, while LBS prefers people who have worked at bigger brand-name companies Imperial because of its focus on STEM. Imperial tries to blend the world of STEM and business together, which is exactly what I was looking for. I attended several events that were in collaboration with their engineering and other departments. Just a video interview GRE/GMAT and IELTS/TOEFL. I applied to 4 universities: Imperial, NUS, NTU and North Western. Got selected in 2 of them, waitlisted in one and rejected from one. Got confirmation from Imperial College London, Got rejected from Northwestern because I applied late. I should have applied earlier for a better response. Plus I should have applied to more colleges in USA.  I chose Imperial College because Imperial had 3 plus QS ranking and I got the course of my choice over here. Requirements : Application, 8 + CGPA and Interview. For my course: 8+CGPA, English exam and undergrad degree completion certificate. It's very easy and convenient. Only challenge that they required was a degree certi before giving admit, in my case my degree got competed in July and got degree in August and course was supposed to start in Sept. I applied for the 2022 intake just a month after I completed my undergrad. I did not want to put any gap between my undergrad and master's. Wanted to complete studies in one go and then get into a job. Application process was quite fast, I applied in March and got the result in April. I got admitted to following schools with confirmed admission. Imperial College London, UK Edinburgh University, UK Cranfield University, UK Purdue University, USA I was Rejected in one. Yale University, USA. Well, not sure of the exact reason but I guess most probable reason would be intense competition and high volume of applications. Along with college admission, I also was fortunate to have been awarded prestigious Chevening Scholarship by UK government. I chose Imperial College of London because the course I undertook is among the top 10 in the world in QS Rankings, and it continues to stay at the top list for years. Admission Process involves submission of Statement of Purpose along with academic records, and score of TOEFL. There was no set criteria or minimum score mentioned. IELTS and TOEFL scores were accepted. It went very smooth for me especially for all UK universities. I got enrolled in 2016-17 batch. I wanted to pursue higher studies at that time of my career from some well known university which could equip me with the knowledge and skills in the field of Environment and clean energy. Applied to Imperial College London - Accepted New York University (NYU) - Admitted Columbia University - Admitted ETH Zurich - Rejected (Most probably as they consider extremely high CGPA candidates(9.7+/10) or candidates with research work under their professors at ETH) University of Manchester - Admitted University College London (UCL) - Admitted University of Edinburgh - Admitted KTH Royal Institute of Technology- Waitlisted I chose MSc Advanced Computing as its one of the most famous and highly demanded degree at Imperial College London. In this course I have the option of selecting 9 modules from 40 different modules and a MSc Thesis. This is a 1-year course so its extremely intensive, as it combines the 2 year workload into 1 year, but by this way it saves 1year of the student. Admission Process: The admission process is rigorous. One needs to submit all his/her documents including transcripts, CV, SOP, 2 LoRs, Research Publications and Scores. GRE Scores for this subject is optional. IELTS score are compulsory. They mostly emphasis on your Research Profile, Transcript and Work Experience while selection of candidates. LoRs also play a huge role. There also might be interviews and it differs from candidates to candidates. I personally didn't have one. I applied for the Fall Intake. There are majorly two types of intake: Fall and Spring. Fall (August/September) is normally considered the best one, as it offers more seats, scholarships as well as the job/internship timeline after graduation is suitable. Moreover most of the courses have their seats filled up in the Fall Intake itself. Also, during Fall intake, multiple part-time jobs are opened, so its easier for international students to get one. For me it took around 3 months. I applied in Jan and got my decision around the end of March. Normally the multiple stages which includes application being reviewed by the college, if passed it gets to the department and if required interviews are scheduled. Interviews depend upon your profile as well as the department. I personally didn't have the interview stage. I chose Imperial because of its ranking and because I wanted to gain experience in coding, which this course revolves around. I knew studying in MSc would help me position myself better in the market. I chose to come to this university because it is in one of the best parts of London and hence would be safe. The university is working towards sustainability and business plays a major role in this, this course had electives that fit well with what I want to do in the future like sustainable finance, fintech, analytics, banking, innovation and Python for finance. There were multiple career fairs and many alumni events that gave us exposure. I picked the university cause it was highly ranked globally and in my course. Additionally, the course structure covered all the topics I wanted to study and London was one of the top cities I was looking at and wanted to be in. My experience was great, met loads of interesting people and felt very intellectually stimulated....Read More
