What Students Say
Likes
- I like that their programs were far better than the curriculums we follow in India.
Dislikes
- The placement cell is only helpful if you have previous internships of almost more than 1 or 2 years.
Course Curriculum
- The course was more of a research-based curriculum and far more relevant than what we studied in undergrad.
- Yes, we were taken on an industrial tour twice a year and received research guidance from our assigned mentors.
- Usually, a maximum of 3 in a day, with a lot of gaps in between to get you well rested and prepared. Usually starts at 10 am and some go on till 8 pm.
- More than 80, I guess.
Admission Experience
- Initially i was also accepted into UCD and TCD in Ireland, but the charm of London attracted me more. I would say I should've gone from my undergrad, so it would have been more fruitful. Required scores were above.
- My scores were 7.5, along with my undergrad scores- 3.7/4
Faculty
- I guess it’s a 40 professors to 1000 students ratio, they are well-experienced professors with multiple PhDs, and not only locals from London but from multiple countries.
Campus Life
- There are a lot of campuses spread out in London based on their course offerings and facilities. There are several clubs like I was involved in gaming club, events and extracurriculars were almost every week we were having something new.
- The library is very good, a whole block just of books, if I could i would have stayed there forever.
Part Time Jobs
- Usually minimum wage is 10 to 14 pounds an hour, 20 hours a week maximum. If more than that, your visa might get cancelled. A few did get chosen as research assistants; you just have to interact well with the professors for that.
Placement
- It was tough for us since the merging of AI with the job sector, and along with that, we were the COVID batch that had less internship experience. So many of us didn't get placed for almost 8 months. The starting average salary for freshers is 22000 GBP per year. But it also depends on what field we start from.
- LinkedIn, indeed and Glassdoor are basically useless since AI has merged with everything; all CVs usually get rejected. Far better to go door to door, booking appointments.
- But my observations were that the person who did both their undergrad and post grad from London were placed far earlier than students whose undergrad was from their home country and post grad here.
Accommodation
- 12000 GBP was mine for the whole year. its usually measured in weeks, like 257 pounds for a week. There are uni-affiliated accommodations; otherwise, the University of London website also provides accommodations for its registered universities, which is far better as we get to interact with students from multiple universities.
Exams
- Undergrad scores, IELTS, SOPs, 3 LORs, CV. Financial statements and proof that you have the funds not only to go there but also to survive there.
Fees
- 29500 tuition fee GBP + 12000GBP Accommodation fee
