Scholarship: this college have really great facility of scholarships for needy people.
Faculty to student ratio is great and small strength class provide a great personalized experience and teaching to students .
The college fest is a perfect great opportunity to learn and grow.

Dislikes

I think that they lag in their way of teaching.
Hostel condition especially for the first year hostel which is provided that is shivalik hostel is worst
Staff is not so good. they take extra classes and non of the things they explain are clear

pec ece 1st year review

Likes

the availability of faculty teachers to get contact for our ease in study
nice placements and will improve as per ece future needs, college also has career development and growth centre, helping in placements and internships
infrastructure includes both old and new labs, buildings, equipments etc.

Dislikes

there are old lab equipments which are to be used in 1st year, some of them aren't even working
the maintainance of hostel and washrooms isn't satisfactory, auditorium also much smaller than expected
girls to boys ratio is too small 1:10 which is seen in ece department this year

Placement Experience:

campus placements are awesome, i have heard from many seniors about them getting nice placements at good companies. many companies like Microsoft, Google, phone pe and other good companies visited and placed many scholars. in last placements process 82 out of 119 students got placed

Pec Bdes overview

Likes

Our college is ragging free and our seniors help us a lot
Clubs are best part of our college we get to learn a lot from them
And if we talk about pec we have to say their fest is too good

Dislikes

As B.des is new branch we don’t have enough seniors to mentor us
Infrastructure of college could have been better
We have very few faculty dedicated to design a lot of faculties is of engineering only

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have good curriculum based on Bdes curriculum of IITs, DTU and IIIT but it could have been better if they would have added some elective subjects. Their are elective subjects in third year only for students who don't get internships. As designs is new branch in our college I am sure it will improve over tym

The brilliance of punjab engineering college

Likes

The college has a great faculty and the they are very much cooperative and good opportunity of sports
The fest of this is amazing. Variety of clubs
The hostel is amazing and good infrastructure

Dislikes

Sports facility for only the dedicated one not for dun
The food is amazing in the hostel of the college
Their is long electricity cut and poor water supply

The college campus placements are at their better levels after a stunning recession in the world market . But our college with its strong allumini base and best faculty make it to achieve to get best placements in its own region .Most. Of the the time students get job offers from college campus .

Placement opportunities are good, with an avg package of 24-25 lpa for top branches and median lies between 17-18 lpa and for core branches avg is 14-15 lpa and median is 10-11 lpa and highest package ranges around 80 lpa to 1 cr

PEC- A complete overview

Likes

Academic Environment: This college offers good academic structure with variety of non tech as well as humanities courses along with obviously core courses.
Placements and Internships: PEC offers great curriculum and reserved the 6th semester for internships and companies come to college in 5th as well as 7th and 8th semester for internships and placements offering more time opportunities to students.
Proximity to city: Situated in the heart of the city, Chandigarh itself is a very beautiful and lively city. You will enjoy your 4 years alot in the campus as well as outing.

Dislikes

Infrastructure: Since its very old college and had a great legacy, but some areas of college and some departments need renovation and new equipments though a large number of renovations are going on.
Management: The whole power lies in the hands of director and dean and keeping in time for hostels doesn't justify the right to freedom and there is a monopoly of power in the hands of deans.
Girls to boys ratio: since it is an engineering college you can't expect equal number of boys and girls. The ratio generally lies between approximately 1:8 for girls to boys.

Placement Experience:

PEC offers a good amount of on-campus companies which provide internships and placements. From 6th semester students become eligible for internships and placements. This provides an edge to students of pec compared to other colleges as they have more time to get placed. Various companies like Microsoft, Google, Uber, DE SHAW, phonepe, Natwest, Amdocs, Cisco, and a number of others companies make over overall 600+ offers. The highest package is offered by Microsoft of 54 lakhs and Uber offers the highest paid internship for 2lakh per month.

Review of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh

Likes

Lush greenery in the campus that provide one with freshness and positivity.
Availability of facilities for sports like football, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket,etc.
Availability of laboratories with equipment related to the branch for experiment performance

Dislikes

Availability of stray dogs in the campus that lead to fear of diseases.
Lack of options in the market with just two stationeries, 3 to 4 eateries and two banks
Unavailability of dispensary after 5p.m. and on weekends which makes it difficult for the students in case of any medical emergencies to receive immediate medical treatment

Placement Experience:

Internship is offered in this college at the beginning of 6th semester and placements begin from 4th year one wards once companies start coming this colege for recuitment. Many companies like L&T, Wipro, Microsoft, Deloitte, etc come for placements

The Legacy and Downfall of PEC

Likes

Placements and Internships are very decent as compared to the market scenario right now.
The Faculty is very well versed in their respective fields
Co curriculars including sports and other hobbies are healthily promoted in the college whilst taking care that the studies arent hampered

Dislikes

The infrastructure could use some rebuilding and improvements
Mess and other hostel facilities are below par and the living conditions are in need of improvement

Placement Experience:

PEC is renowned for its placements.. PEC has managed to maintained its placement statistics in times when top tier colleges are struggling to provide decent placement opportunities Some of the visiting companies include JP Morgan, Texas Instruments, PhonePe, Microsoft, Apple (TWICE), Amazon, VISA and AmericanExpress.. offers made by each company vary Highest ever package was 83 LPA (CTC) and aveage package is approx 15.5 LPA (CTC) Approx 95% of the students appearing for placements get placed I plan to either persue Masters or sit for placements after getting the degree

Punjab engineering college

Likes

The curriculum of the college is upto date and updates regularly to bring out the best quality education for students.
Faculty and staff are very supportive if you want to work on your personal projects then also they will help you out
The coding culture of the college is the most important attribute that gives us an upper hand over other colleges.

Dislikes

Student parking is very much distant from the premises, we have to walk 1-1.5 km just tmfrim the parking to our classes
The college is very strict in terms of attendance, so we get very less time to focus on other things.
The infrastructure of the college is not that much good sometimes the equipment fails to work on time and is also outdated as per today's time

Course Curriculum Overview:

The relevance of the course matches the industry needs but is not that efficient to help you crack a good package. For example, we have to study the web development on our own there is no subject which let us learn about web dev.

Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh- Review

Likes

Nice exposure. Due to low comparatively low strength compared to other colleges exposure was good.
Nice number of co circular activities and flagship events like PECFEST.
Teachers rare experienced in respective fields

Dislikes

Infra structure is very old. As college is 70 years old so most of labs and building are of that time
No entrepreneurship culture. Entrepreneurship and incubation cell is not active much after covid
Boy/girl ratio very bad. 10:1 is boy girl ratio

Placement Experience:

- Before recession placements were good. Median Package was 7 lakhs. - During recession placements has took hit. Few companies are visiting collge and they are hiring less. - During my placemnet cycle are 400 got placed out of 700 but media package was less compared to other years
