Admission to IGNOU MA Hindi is open twice a year - for the January session (December to March) and the July session (June to September). The January 2026 session is currently open with the last date of 30 March 2026. Admission is direct and merit-based; no entrance examination is conducted. The programme is available in Hindi medium.

Relevant Exam Dates

No separate entrance exam is required for admission to IGNOU MA Hindi. The programme follows direct merit-based admission. IGNOU conducts its own Term-End Examinations (TEE) twice a year (June and December) for enrolled students.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's Degree or a higher degree from a recognised university (in any subject).
No specific subject requirement at graduation level.

Admission Process

Visit the official IGNOU admission portal at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
Register as a new user (if applying for the first time) and log in.
Select the MA Hindi (MHD) programme and fill in the online application form with personal and academic details.
Upload scanned copies of required documents: passport-size photograph, signature, 10th and 12th mark sheets, graduation degree and mark sheets, category certificate (if applicable), and ID proof.
Pay the Registration Fee of Rs. 300 online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Submit the form and note down the registration/enrollment number.
Await confirmation of admission via email/SMS.
After confirmation, pay the programme fee for Year 1.

Uploaded subject by subject on the exam portal online.

Fees and Financial Aid:

In the Indira Gandhi National open University the fee is charged according to the course . For example, I did my master in Hindi and the entire course is for ?12000 but it does not have to be paid at one go. You have to complete it by paying ?6000 in the first year and ?6000 in second year and ?180 for the subject to be paid in examination from. The course fee is very cheap. I doesn't about the scholarship of IGNOU

My Review for IGNOU M.A Hindi Programme.

For my two-year M.A. programme, I had to pay 13,200 rupess which was divided yearly. On admission, the sum of 6800 rupees is payable which includes 200 rupees as a one-time registration fee. After that 6600 rupees is payable for next year.

At the time of admission fee is 7000 per year if u choose hardcopy of the book, 6000 per year if choose a softcopy of the book. No scholarship is provided by university. If u get good marks then u can take part in campus placement.

Why should u choose ignou?

The per year fee is 7000 if u want a hard copy if the book, 6000 if u want a soft copy. The exam fee is 200 per paper. U can choose an exam center within the whole of India. U have to choose one study center. The assignment has to be submitted to the study center. If u got good marks then u can select for campus selection also.

IGNOU! Need of Distance Education!

IGNOU is known for their affordable fee, because it is correspondent education not regular. so fee is very affordable, in my case, I took admission in Master of Arts(Hindi), and there fee is Rs.5600 per annum excluding Rs. 200 registration fee, and exam fee. so overall fee is Rs. 11200 but if you choose hard copy of study material then you have to pay 15% extra . and fee also vary time to time and almost all courses fee same. There is no scholarship available in this university as there is only distance courses provided. As I memories, last year fee hike by 10%.
