National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programs in Educational Policy, Planning and Administration to both national and international perspectives. The Admission process for NIEPA programs is usually conducted from April to August. Candidates seeking admission in M.Phil and Ph.D. programs are selected through entrance exam conducted by the institution followed by a personal interview. NIEPA M.Phil Admission 2024
NIEPA offers an M.Phil degree for a period of two years in Educational Planning, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, and Educational Finance. The final selection of candidates for an M.Phil program is done after the personal interview round. The eligibility and selection criteria for the NIEPA M.Phil program are given below:

The university also offers admission to the Ph.D. program in Educational Planning, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, and Educational Finance. Interested candidates can get themselves enrolled in full-time or part-time programs. Candidates possessing an M.Phil degree in a relevant discipline are eligible for admission. Also, those who possess brilliant academic credentials in social or allied disciplines along with papers published in reputed journals are also considered eligible.

NIEPA Fellowships
M.Phil and Full-time Ph.D. candidates will be granted NIEPA fellowships. NET qualified candidates with JRF will be awarded the same by the institution in accordance with the norms of UGC. The continuation of fellowship is subject to progress report of the scholars duly approved by his/her supervisor.
NIEPA FAQs
Ques. What is the duration of the full-time PhD program at NIEPA?
Ans. NIEPA PhD Program shall be for a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum duration of six 6 years from the date of admission to the PhD program. A maximum of an additional two 2 years can be given through a process of re-registration as per the Statute/Ordinance of NIEPA as approved by the Academic Council. However, the total period for completion of a PhD program should not exceed 8 years from the date of admission to the PhD program. Female PhD scholars and Persons with Disabilities (having more than 40% disability) may be allowed an additional relaxation of two (2) years; however, the total period for completion of a PhD program in such cases should not exceed ten to 10 years from the date of admission.
Ques. When does a NIEPA part-time PhD scholar become eligible to submit a Thesis?
Ans. Part-time PhD scholars of NIEPA would be eligible for submission of his/her PhD thesis after a minimum period of three years, including course work, from the date of registration for the PhD program

Ques. Who is eligible for NIEPA Fellowship?
Ans. Candidates admitted for the Full-time PhD program will be eligible for a NIEPA fellowship. Candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) with Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) awarded by the UGC will draw the same through the NIEPA as per the norms and procedures laid down by the UGC. However, the continuation of the fellowship shall be subject to the satisfactory progress report of the scholars duly approved by his/her supervisor and appropriate committees at NIEPA. Part-time PhD scholars are not eligible for Fellowship.
Ques. Are Scholars admitted to full-time NIEPA PhD programs permitted to take employment?
Ans. Scholars admitted to full-time NIEPA PhD programs shall not be permitted to take up any employment during the duration of the PhD coursework. Candidates who are already in employment shall have to submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from their respective employers while applying for any of the PhD programs of the University, along with the assurance of leave for the necessary period.
