All about GCET Jammu

Likes

I like the way of teaching by the teachers. The teachers are very friendly with students.
The college also give students chance to take part in many activities like sports, coding, hackathon, logo making, etc.
The college has very low fees for academics and hostel fee as compare to other colleges.

Dislikes

The college is far away from jammu city. Its about 18km from Jewel Chowk Jammu
There is not any transport facility for students given by the college students together book a bus for transportation and pay about ₹17000 monthly.
There is not any market near the college. Only few shops are there outside the college.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Tata visited and offers made by them is about 4lakh or more than it sometimes. The highest and package is about 8lakh rupees. Only 10 percent students get placements. My plan after graduation is to make my own business or work as a mechanical engineer. Many students choose to study GATE or apply for govt jobs.

Why you should get admission in jammu university

Likes

The teacher's are supporting and are very knowledgeable
Sports facilities are good and they provide all the equipments for sports
During winter the temperature remain stable mostly

Dislikes

During summer the heat is so intolerable
Heat waves are very strong during summer

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choosed this course because of my interest in history and English language. I am Fully satisfied with the preparation for my further studies. I have improved my history knowledge here and got rid of stage fear through opportunities i got here Exams are conducted aftr every 6 month and their difficultly is moderate but we do have class tests conducted by facilities

I like the college ground it is good enough to play cricket and other games
College environment is good there is plantation all around in campus which is a good environment
College location is far from the main city Jammu.

Dislikes

I don't like college building and campus
Hostel is outside college which is not good for the students.
Strength is too low these years , admissions in college ilare decreasing year after year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course I preferred is BE (civil). But I was very disappointed because the syllabus is very outdated and is of no use in this modern world. Where everything can be done with softwares and still they are focussed on calculations.

Curriculum activities and the open ground and bus facilities and good teaching staff and clean environment and also canteen area and friendly environment. The college is also very large and there are many sports equipment and ground area
Ground area is aski very good and clean and large
Canteen is also very helpful for student who cant brung tiffin

Dislikes

The thing that is disliked is placements
Placement is for cse,it , and enc and less for me
Sports facilities are good but time is less

The timing of every class is ariund 50 mins and very friendly environment is there and there are also doubt clases amd more if u cant study in the class and difficullty level is nit as much difficult and is very easy

Horrible Experience with Sweet Students

You may get to know different students from different districts. So you can get to know about new districts and their culture and life style. You can get to meet good students too
The food is good and affordable here. It can range from 30 to 180. You can easily have your breakfast and lunch in under 100 rupees. And the quality of the food is good. You will like it. Like the gossip canteen and Nescafe to cool your head ; )
The area surrounding the University is good. You can get easily anything and the health centre of university is good to do try it if you fall sick.

Dislikes

The quality of our department is worse. They don't engage us in cousre work, extracurricular activities and events. They just take exams the whole sem without any delay though. They are the first one to take exams in the whole university
They don't have professor's for each subject. They use scholar's to teach us without even providing us a professional professor whether it's contractual or permanent.
They give marks on the basis of roll numbers and on the mood. If they like it they will give you score if they don't. They will not give you marks. They just want their material to be written.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's well made. It reflects UGC NET PAPER 2 POLITICAL SCIENCE. If you can study this course thoroughly and with hard work. You van crack UGC NET exam easily. The course is great and show's the effort it was taken to put it together

The positive environment provided here is somewhat nice...i.e specially the campus..which is fascinating.
Various programmes and webinars are conducted to enhance the creativity skills among the students
Everyone is helpful towards each other...in one or the other way...by ensuring the accomplishment of necessities of their college mates.

Dislikes

Behaviour of some of the seniors...I avoided..
Dogs are roaming all around the campus...even they enter the classes...
There is no hostel and other medical facilities for students

It is average on the basis of relevance because it relates somewhat with our previous years but not that much...it is helpful for us in various ways... actually preparation to face real world as well...the enhancement of development of feeling of compassion

Likes

i like the proffessors are very concern and lean about thier students ,, they provide exyra knowledge except from the studies like the lessons
And the campus of the university is my go to place that is so prretty and peaceful one can study in the park area or sit for a long time just quite i like so much campus are
The working staff is love All the staff including teachers and other workers are so kind and heartwarming they talk so sweetly to you

Dislikes

the distance from one department to another the thing that we ahvw to walk so much from one dept to another to reach
the canteens are so not so good in condition every canteen and cafe have overcrowd and no hygine so i disliked the thinv

curriculum is also the main part of the institution which university held different sports and games and the participation intrested students also participate i am not so much involve in the games and sports so i dont pay so much attention to it! but yeah university constitute much in the extra curriculum activities

College teaching staff is good especially the political science and history teachera they help us whenever we required them
Social interactions is good with student qnd teacher and there ia good quality ab md we spend good time there
There is no placement in our college we to manage alone job after our graduation is done

Dislikes

Little playing around and our sports teachee behavior is not good
Canteen is good but things are expensive
Some teachere behavior are not good towards student

The courses which i have choose is good for me because i love political science subject and it is best according to me but the syllabus we are getting is not good there should be soome Improvement in terms of theories areas

Likes

The teachers are very panctual and friendly .overall infrastucture is good.
Transport facility is good for the students
Dicipline and overall experience is good.

Dislikes

Less avilability of stuff in the classs.
Labs are not maintained very well for practicing.
Classes are taken for long and not providning break

The campus is very clean and we can see the greenery
Teaching staff is good and polite. We can clear our doubts anytime
We have visits to different places for educational purposes and social service activities

Dislikes

No ÁC in classes. Very difficult to attend classes in such humid weather without ac and the fans also keep fluctuating
Admin is a little rude and slow when you go with an issue
Very less cultural events in the campus.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell in the college and professionals from different industries visit for giving placements. Students from engineering backgrounds have high chance of getting placements with good packages ????
