NMIMS B.Pharm {Lateral} FAQs
Ques. Can a D.Pharm holder from any state apply for B.Pharm Lateral Entry at NMIMS Mumbai?
Ans. Yes, D.Pharm holders from any PCI-affiliated institute across India can apply. However, the D.Pharm must be from a Pharmacy Council of India affiliated institute with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Candidates from overseas must submit an AIU equivalence certificate.
Ques. Is there any entrance exam required for NMIMS B.Pharm Lateral Entry?
Ans. No, NMIMS does not require any entrance exam for B.Pharm lateral entry. Selection is purely merit-based on D.Pharm aggregate percentage. In case of a tie, 12th examination marks are used to determine merit.
Ques. Can I change my campus preference after submitting the online registration form?
Ans. No. As per the official handout, campus preferences once given in the online registration form cannot be changed later. You must carefully select your preferred campuses (two preferences are compulsory) at the time of registration.
Ques. What is the total fee for B.Pharm Lateral Entry at NMIMS Mumbai?
Ans. The annual tuition fee is Rs. 3,00,000 (Batch 2025 data), making the total tuition fee approximately Rs. 9,00,000 for the 3-year program. Batch 2026 fees will be announced at the time of admission. The Mumbai campus fee is higher than Shirpur (Rs. 1,40,000/year) and Hyderabad campuses.
Ques. What are the career prospects after B.Pharm from NMIMS?
Ans. Graduates can pursue roles as Medical Representative, Quality Control/Assurance Analyst, Regulatory Affairs Executive, Clinical Research Associate, Hospital Pharmacist, or Drug Inspector. Higher studies options include M.Pharm, MBA (Pharma Tech), or PharmD. NMIMS's strong pharma industry connections provide excellent placement opportunities.
Ques. Is the B.Pharm Lateral Entry at NMIMS different from the regular B.Pharm program?
Ans. Yes. The lateral entry program is specifically for D.Pharm holders who join directly at the second year, completing B.Pharm in 3 years instead of 4. The regular B.Pharm program is for 12th pass students who join at the first year. Both programs lead to the same B.Pharm degree from NMIMS Deemed-to-be University.
