Ques. Is NEET mandatory for admission to B.Sc Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology at SIMATS?
Ans. Yes, NEET UG is mandatory for admission to all allied health sciences programs at SIMATS, including B.Sc Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology. However, no minimum qualifying percentile in NEET is required for application; admission is based on merit from among applicants.
Ques. What is the difference between Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology and Cardiovascular Technology at SIMATS?
Ans. Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology focuses specifically on operating and managing the heart-lung (cardiopulmonary bypass) machine during cardiac surgeries. Cardiovascular Technology, on the other hand, covers a broader range of cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including catheterization labs, echocardiography, and electrophysiology. Both are 4-year programs at SIMATS.
Ques. What are the career opportunities after completing B.Sc Cardio Pulmonary Perfusion Care Technology from SIMATS?
Ans. Graduates can work as Perfusionists in super-specialty hospitals, cardiac surgery centers, and transplant units in India and abroad. They can also work with advanced life-support equipment such as ECMO and VADs. Higher studies in M.Sc. Cardio Vascular Perfusion Technology are also available at SIMATS itself.
Ques. Is the 4th year of the program a paid internship or does the student still pay fees?
Ans. The 4th year is a mandatory internship year, and students are required to pay the regular annual tuition fee of Rs. 1.25 Lakhs for this year as well. The internship is conducted at Saveetha Medical College and Hospitals, providing hands-on clinical exposure.
Ques. Does SIMATS provide hostel accommodation for allied health sciences students?
Ans. Yes, SIMATS provides hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. The hostel is located on campus and offers non-AC rooms. Hostel fees range from approximately Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 per year depending on the type of accommodation. Hostel is optional and not mandatory.
Ques. Can students from outside Tamil Nadu apply for this program at SIMATS?
Ans. Yes, students from all states across India can apply for this program at SIMATS. Admission is based on NEET UG scores and there is no state domicile restriction for deemed universities. International and NRI students may apply under a separate quota with different fee structures.
