The program spans 4 semesters and covers advanced topics in accounting, finance, taxation, business law, and research methodology. With a total fee of just Rs. 6,000 for the entire course, BHU M.Com is among the most affordable PG commerce programs in the country. BHU M.Com FAQs

Ques. Is BHU M.Com worth it compared to other central universities?

Ans. Absolutely. BHU M.Com is one of the best value-for-money PG commerce programs in India. The total fee is just Rs. 6,000 for 2 years, the faculty holds Ph.D. qualifications, and the BHU campus experience is unmatched. The brand value of a BHU degree is strong for government jobs, CA/CMA articleship, and further studies like Ph.D. or MBA. However, if your primary goal is corporate placement, you may want to weigh options like IMS BHU MBA alongside M.Com.

Ques. What is the CUET-PG paper code for BHU M.Com, and what subjects does it cover?

Ans. The CUET-PG paper code for M.Com admission at BHU is COPQ01 (Commerce). The paper covers topics from B.Com syllabus including Financial Accounting, Business Law, Income Tax, Cost Accounting, Business Statistics, and Management. Candidates should refer to the NTA CUET-PG 2026 syllabus at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg for the detailed topic list.

Ques. Can students from non-commerce backgrounds apply for BHU M.Com?

Ans. No. The eligibility requires a B.Com (Hons.) / B.Com / B.Com (Hons.) FMM degree. Students from other streams such as B.A. Economics or BBA are generally not eligible unless their degree is specifically recognized as equivalent by BHU. Always verify your eligibility from the official BHU PG Bulletin before applying.

Ques. What is the difference between a regular seat and a paid seat in BHU M.Com?

Ans. Regular seats have a tuition fee of Rs. 1,500 per semester (total Rs. 6,000 for 2 years). Paid seats require an additional Rs. 30,000 per semester in Semester 1 and Semester 3, making the total cost significantly higher. Paid seats are typically allotted to candidates who score lower in CUET-PG but still wish to study at BHU. Both regular and paid seat students receive the same degree and attend the same classes.

Ques. Is hostel accommodation guaranteed for BHU M.Com students?

Ans. Hostel accommodation at BHU is not guaranteed and is subject to availability. BHU has 72 hostels accommodating nearly 11,000 students across all programs. Commerce faculty students can apply for hostel allotment, but seats are limited and allotted on merit/priority basis. The annual hostel fee is approximately Rs. 7,000, with mess charges extra. It is advisable to apply for hostel as early as possible after admission.

Ques. What are the career options after BHU M.Com?

Ans. BHU M.Com graduates pursue diverse career paths including: (a) Government jobs such as SSC CGL (Accountant/Auditor), UPSC Civil Services, State PCS, and bank PO/clerk exams; (b) Professional qualifications like CA (ICAI), CMA (ICMAI), or CS (ICSI) alongside or after M.Com; (c) Ph.D. in Commerce or Management from BHU or other central universities; (d) Teaching/lectureship through NET/SET exams; (e) Corporate roles in accounting, finance, taxation, and audit.
