Dislikes

Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

The faculties and the tutors are highly qualified and had studied at renowned universities and did their Ph.D. there. The teaching method depends upon the faculty, some have old methods, and some have new methods. Timely exams are held every 1.5 months and are not so difficult.

IIT (BHU), Varanasi review

Likes

Campus is pretty beautiful with trees on both of the road.
We can play any sport we like and join any club.
Placements are also pretty good. Students will be able to apply to any company they dreamt about.

Dislikes

Now a days we have cattle roaming around the campus
Allowing other inside too cause a little traffic.
Having mining department far away from the hostel.

Placement Experience:

We are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. We have more than 1000 companies visiting our campus. The highest package last year was 2 crore and the lowest was 7.5 LPA. Almost 95% of students get placed.

I like ITT BHU mess because here foods are on top quality and mess worker are very familiar.
I like 2nd year hostel only because it is one of the best hostel I have ever seem.
I like security of IIT BHU .Here a control room no..provided to everyone if you have any emergency them call them police force will be available in 10.min and less at any time

Dislikes

I don't like lecture hall of IIT BHU .as UP is very hot in june july there should be AC in classroom.
I don't like first year hostel . because it is too small and also triple seater
I don't like IIT BHU open campus here you can't distinguish between IITian and other people.

IIT BHU, VARANASI - A DEEP INSIGHT

Likes

Helpful seniors and ragging-free campus. Seniors are available for help.
The number of clubs is huge, one can easily find their interests.
The placement statistics are really good.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is a bit old, and can be improved.
The campus is open to citizens, which is not good sometimes.
The mess food quality varies from mess to mess, It is very good in one mess and bad at another.

They manage to get a placement till their last semester. Almost all the big companies visit our college to give placement to the students, and most of the students sitting in the placements get placed. The highest package offered is somewhere around 2 crores and the average package should be 22 lacs. I am planning on getting a good placement after getting my degree.

I liked the club culture with many active members
There many fests and events which is very good.
Sports facilities are very good here with equipments

Dislikes

Infrastructure should get improve with better classroom
There should be more hostels to provide single seater rooms

Placement Experience:

At the end of the 7th semester, college allows you to sit in the campus placements. The highest package offered was above 1.2 cr last year, and the average package was around 20 lakhs per annum, expect a recession above 90 per cent of students get placed.

Likes

Things I liked are the students here(some only).
The infrastructure is old but it is great too. The campus is beautiful having lots of greenery.
The placements are also one of the things that i like here.

Dislikes

I also disliked the 75% attendance criteria here.
I also disliked not having outlets in the campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is quite good. Since hardworking students come here they know what they have to do in life. There are many inspirational people here. We get to learn a lot from them. My plan is to get placed in a company after college.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
