Most of the professors are quite approachable, highly qualified and a lot of them possess exceptional teaching abilities. The course curriculum is as relevant as other courses offered in top colleges across India (which one might argue is not very relevant to the modern advancements). It does accomplishment it's task of making the students industry ready which is assessed by the semester exams which one could experience is much easier as compared to the qualifying exam i.e the JEE Advanced exam.

ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT AND FACULTY : Academics in IITKGP is highly well described and well enriched atmosphere and mostly all professors are supportive in all fields .

The faculty to student ratio is very good and, and most professors are approchable and supportive. One faculty I admire most is Kamalakashy Sir. His eaching style is extremely clear and student friendly.His classrooms sessions are interactive, and make students mindset to think logically and approach problem analytically, which really helps in building a strong academic foundation. While every professor has a different teaching style, some course fell a bit fast-pased and some professors are strict in every part of course but they are only strict to make student sincere. There are two exams per semester as end sem and mid sem and two class-test and weitage of each are 50%,30%,20% respectively. Mostly all students get passed and no one fails except few(4-5) who never attend class and are not serious in academics.

Professors are very helpful to each and every student

Faculty and student ratio is quite good at IIT KGP and faculty to student relationship is good because every facultu pay attention towards the student for their doubts are other things for example clubs. I like every faculty who is teaching to me because everyone graduted and done phd from reputed colleges and they are good at ehat they are teaching to us .

THE KGP, THE TEMPO, THE PEACE

The faculty to students ratio is 1:30 and the faculty members are easily approachable online as well as offline you can just arrange an appointment with them just by sending an email and they will help very nicely. if i have to name one faculty then it would be Jenia mam from HSS department i had a course with her, and here teaching and grading techniques were very good. Each and every prof is good in their respective field but one thing that i hate about them is they start everything slowly but by the end of the semester they accelarates the syllabus. exams are of hard level but if have have attended all the class it would not be a problem for you to answer.

M.Tech in IIT KGP - What you need to know.

Research enthusiasts will find an array of different top of the line equipments with mostly good guidance.

Dislikes

Some faculties have let their job get to their heads and have quite the ego problem.

Faculty to student ratio is almost 1:1 in our department. Most faculties are good but some are an arrogant lot. Unfortunately, they are the ones in higher positions. One of the best faculties is professor R.K. Sen with an H index of 50+. He is quite the simple man and motivates students by the same demeanor. There is one mid sem and one end sem per semester and yes they are difficult. Usually most pass.

The faculty to student ratio is around 1:100. In most cases the faculty student relationship is quite normal, leaning more to the casual side, but that varies from faculty to faculty. and they are very approachable. No faculty is particularly disliked. There are 1-2 class tests, 1 midsem and 1 endsemper semester.The difficulty is quite relative and varies between students.Very few students fail. The course curriculum is not very relevant.

Reality of IIT KGP

The professors.some professors has knowledge about the subject but has no idea to teach

As i said the faculties are not as good as you expect.they have knowledge in the subject but dont know to teach.and the gradr depends just on the teachers. If you know the teacher personally you will easily get good grades.whixh should not be permissible

IIT KGP in a sophmores eye

The departmental profesors are good and friendly

The no of faculties are decent.. but the number of faculties in BS programmes are relatively lower compared to iit madras. My departmental professors are mostly nice. Most of them are approachable. In first year the courses would be mostly common and some of those classes wont be that good. There are 2 exams in a semester one in med and another at the end and there will be 2 tests also. The exams are of high standard. Some may go very hard and some ay go easy as well

Master's at IIT Kharagpur

The faculty member are ample for the students and there approach toward the students are very good and very supportive, and they create a positive and friendly approach towards students so that they wont hesitate asking any doubts or quaries. This course has 4 exams, 2 of them are end sem examination and the other two is mid sem exam for the 1st yr and in second yr there is no course works, so no exam.. But its your choice that u can opt any extra subjects for more credits.
