Gujarat Maritime University offers two specializations namely Maritime Law and International Trade Law. The course has been a commitment to bridging the knowledge gap in the maritime and shipping sector. Applicants are selected on the basis of a National Level Online Remotely Proctored entrance test followed by a Personal Interview of the candidate. If the seat remains vacant after the GMU Admission Process, the same will be filled by Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

Gujarat Maritime University LLM Course Highlights

The total seat intake of the course is 60, 30 for each specialization.
The course is available for one year with two-semester exams conducted for assessment.
LLM at GMU is a credit-based system and the total credits are 26 for individual specializations.
The college has a dedicated Internship and Placement Cell to guide the students for recruitment to good companies

Gujarat Maritime University LLM Eligibility

Any candidate interesting in taking admission in LLM must be having a degree of LLB or its equivalent from a recognized University
The candidate must have at least 50% of overall aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA in the case of General Category and 45% or equivalent CGPA in the case of SC/ST category students.
Candidates who are in their final year of qualifying examination are eligible to apply and also the ones who completed the degree and are awaiting results can apply.

Selection Criteria

Eligible candidates will be allowed to appear on a National Level Online Remotely Proctored entrance test followed by a Personal Interview of the candidate.
The weightage of selection is 70% for the written test and 30% for the personal interview.

If the seats of the college remain vacant after the GMU LLM admission process, they are filled through merit secured in the CLAT test followed by a personal interview.

Gujarat Maritime University LLM Course Details

The program is a one-year duration program with two semesters.
The first semester has three compulsory courses and two specialization courses whereas the second semester has four specialization courses with a dissertation.
The total credits for the course are 26, 13 for the first semester and 13 for the second semester.

Gujarat Maritime University LLM Placements

The placements are governed by the special dedicated Placement and Internship Cell of the university. The placements are conducted by first pre-placement meeting where students are provided with information about organizations, jobs offered, terms and conditions, etc.,

The companies that visited the campus to provide placements were Adani, S&P, Bodapati Associates, Altacit Global, Directorate General of Shipping, MAERSK, etc.

Ques. How many days does it take for the entire admission process for the course of LLM at GMU to conclude?

Ans. The admission process at GMU for the course of LLM takes place over eight weeks or two months including application initiation for the course and releasing a list of shortlisted candidates.

Ques. What is the application fee for applying for the Gujarat Maritime University LLM course and is it refundable?

Ans. The application fee is INR 1,000 for General category students and INR 500 for SC/ST and OBC students. The application fee is not refundable in any case once paid in favour of the institution.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The fee structure of the college is extremely feasible and justified if compared to the quality of education provided. It costs ?1.38 lacs for the complete course. In my opinion, it is pretty justified and value for money.

International law study in the state of Gujarat

The fee structure of the university is costly. Tentatively Rs.400000/- is charged for the year. This amount in not inclusive of the admission fee. The university is a private institute therefore, they would charge higher amount to their students for the facilities and infrastructure they provide to the students. Best College for Law Students

The total fees of this one year course is 137,500 which is expensive. The fees is neither economical nor feasible in our college. All facilities and best internship opportunities in top banks and law firms are given by college. Only the negative point is fees which is little expensive and not affordable to students from low income family.

LLM at GMU

The total amount of fee I submitted was approximately 1.2 lacs. It consisted of an admission fee of Rs. 2000/-, general security deposit of Rs. 10000/-, tuition fee, examination fee, academic facility fee, etc.

The perfect institution for Maritime studies.

First of all you will have to pay an admission fees of 20000 rupees and general security deposit of 10000 rupees. All of these fees are one time payable only. The tuition fees for the course is 70000 rupees. The Infrastructure Maintenance Fee is 16500 rupees, Examination Fee is 6000 rupees, Academic facility Fee is 12000 rupees. All in all you will get the course in 1.2 lakh rupees total.

LLM in GMU

Even though I belonged to the SC category, no reduction was made on my fees. My parents had to really struggle to pay the lumpsum amount which was around Rs. 40,000/- per annum. As the fees itself was high, I had to find ways of living outside the university where I could get a lower price accommodation with many facilities.

Total course fee is 1 lakh 38 thousand which includes ?70000 as tution fees, ?20000 as admission fees, ?6000 will be taken as examination fees and other fees is ?41500. The total course amount is not very high.

Good college for International trade law

The fee of college is not that much. The duration of this course is only for one year. The college asked for ? ?70000 as a tuition fee. The examination and admission fee was differently charged ?6000 and ?20000 respectively.
