What Students Say
Likes
- I love the infra, campus, faculty and how everyone supports you along your journey.
- I just love the college, its like a second home to me.
Course Curriculum
- The course syllabus pretty sync with the latest trends, and you are free to choose the courses you want. In a week, usually only 3 classess assuming 3 courses in a semester, and an average of about 45-60 students per class.
Admission Experience
- Right before applying to universities, I had decided that if I had been offered admission into IU, then I would accept it right away because IU is different from the rest. It's not like any university in the middle of the city, but IU is itself a college town. Making it peaceful, too. I love the college atmosphere there and the weather too. I miss Bloomington to this day.
- My GRE score was 304/340, and my IELTS band was 7.5.
Faculty
- 1:18 is the faculty-to-student ratio. A lot of professors have been really friendly with me, and I got an opportunity to support them as a Teaching assistant as well.
Campus Life
- A vast number of clubs are in IU, and events are held every semester, almost every day; there are multiple events. You are free to even start your own club and communities. A variety of sports facilities for different sport types were provided for every student, and there was also one credit course you could take to like learn a sport as well and get your stress off from actual studies.
- Herman B Wells Library, one of the biggest libraries in IU, was my go-to place during midterms or exams. Not just that library, there were a couple more libraries too in each building.
Part Time Jobs
- No Student is left out of part-time. Each student can find a part-time job on campus in the dining hall. A maximum of 20hours per week is allowed. It's quite easy to find on-campus jobs as a dining worker, teaching assistant, or Research assistant.
Placement
- Almost 80-90% get their jobs within the first 6 months. It all depends on how you strategize your applications. Start early before graduating. Try to get some internships in the summer, and also try building a good rapport with the professors, as they can provide LORs for you. The average salary range is about 90-120k USD.
Accommodation
- Accommodation was not given to us by the university, but I had taken an apartment for lease nearby campus. I used apartments.com to find my accommodation, and also used Discord groups to find roommates. We even had WhatsApp groups. Monthly rent averages around 300-450$.
Exams
- An English proficiency test is compulsory, but the GRE was not mandatory at the time of my application. One must submit an SOP along with 3 LORs and also other proofs related to education and work experience.
Fees
- 50k USD
