What Students Say
Likes
- University at Buffalo is one of the best public university in NY state with affordable tuition fee, events and activities to help students upskill themselves.
Dislikes
- One of the worrying factors about Buffalo is the winter weather which makes harder to commute to university and other locations.
Course Curriculum
- For my coursework, IELTS was enough, and as far as other courses are considered GRE/GMAT with IELTS is a requirement. In order to complete the application process, you need SOP, CV, LOR, marksheets, and Transcripts.
- The coursework that I had an opportunity to study was more relatable to the coursework and adapted accordingly to the new technology. Even though there are several research opportunities at UB, you can upskill yourself through internships where UB helps you find one via the Career fair (Happens once a year). A maximum of 3 classes was scheduled. Anywhere, 15 - 55 students in my class.
Admission Experience
- Affordable tuition fee in the NY state and a stronger Indian alum in my field.
Faculty
- 11:1, Professors are friendly and approachable, being part of the projects and coursework, helping students upskill themselves. Chi Zhou, I worked with him for 2 semesters, and he personally helped me with the CPT process.
Campus Life
- A lot of festival events are conducted by Indian clubs during the festival time.
- UB has a recreation center which offers all the sports facilities for the students at a very affordable price.
Part Time Jobs
- You can earn 15.5 USD per hour, and you are only allowed 20 hours per week. You can apply via the official website.
- It would be much easier if you applied early. Approaching professors regarding TA, DA would be a better way to obtain this opportunity.
Placement
- I am not aware of this part, and most students don't disclose their salary. Most of the students find their jobs via networking, rigorous application in job sites, etc
Accommodation
- I found my accommodation via WhatsApp groups. I am paying $475 with utilities.
Exams
- My Scores - IELTS - 6.5, GRE - wasn't a requirement
Fees
- $35,000
