I applied to 10-11 colleges and got an offer letter from every one of them. I chose this one because there is a whole Indian community in this college, and the tuition fees are also low, and the weather in California is great NUU, NJIT, CSU LONG BEACH, CSU FULLERTON ASU, Cleveland State University, and also I forgot some other name. But I feel I chose the right one. First of all Its weather of California, I literally do not like snow, and secondly, I heard good reviews about the university, and more, there is an Indian community living near the university. There are like 300 students living in the same area, so we can celebrate our home and it feels like home. Long Beach is also known for being a calm and peaceful city. Los Angeles is 50 minutes away, and you can take flights anywhere at any time. I went in summer intake, the admission process is not too hard; you just have to pay $30 to apply in university and have to wait till 1-2 months for their reply on the decision, you have to submit some paperwork, like your study results, of you study some income proof of you sponsor and have to pass English proficiency test. I applied to several colleges, including CSU Long Beach, Arizona State Univ., the University of Texas, Arlington, the University of North Carolina Charlotte, and CSU Northridge. I was admitted to CSU Long Beach and Arizona State University, waitlisted at the University of Texas, Arlington, and did not receive anything from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and CSU Northridge. I think I wasn’t accepted due to high competition and limited spots despite having a strong profile overall. Also, they see a lot many factors, and after that they provide admission to the students. Because of number of factors which are - Good academic record, past students record, environment. Process included application form filling with details and submitting transcripts followed by acceptance letter and I-20 from the university. The eligibility is to give GRE and TOEFL/IELTS exam and there is no such minimum score for GRE but for TOEFL it's 80. Overall, it was a nice experience and there were no challenges. I applied for the Fall intake as it offers more course options, internships and better networking opportunities. The admission process took around 4–5 months in total. I applied to several universities: California State University, Fullerton (Shortlisted, admitted) California State University, Long Beach (Shortlisted, admitted) California State University, Los Angeles (Shortlisted, admitted) George Mason University (Shortlisted, admitted) Florida State University (Shortlisted, rejected) I wasn't accepted to the FSU because I didn't have a higher GPA, and maybe it's to do with the IELTS score, as they never tell the exact reason. I chose CSULB because of its location, reviews from students I got from LinkedIn connections, and then I made this decision. The admission process was simple, with my general information of undergraduate GPA and transcript upload, along with my IELTS score; the GRE that time was not mandatory, so I only gave my IELTS score. I am not sure about the cutoff; it was more of a first-come, first-served serve, and applying early and having a decent GPA at an undergraduate university. The admission process is again simple, and you have to be super early and proactive with these state universities. I think the max number of intake was occupied by other students, so I got rejected. The curriculum is very much aligned to my interest field of study. University located in California allows me to explore more job opportunities and build good network with the industry experts in Silicon Valley. Weather of California is pretty similar to India's western coast, so I can adjust in winters. I applied on the official California State University portal, selecting proper course and city of the University. I received the acceptance letter from the university within next 2 months, on which I had to give my response through the university's Student Portal, whether I accepted the offer or rejected or deferred it, within the given deadline. I accepted the offer and confirmed my admission by paying a deposit of $150(this amount was refunded on 1st semester completion). For acceptance I had submitted my GRE, Toefl scores, Marksheet of past 7 semesters of my undergrad course, a Statement of Purpose, 3 Letter of recommendations - one from my Project Guide, one from the Head of Department and another one from my Internship mentor. Overall process is a smooth, just need to keep a check on emails and take follow up with the university if any difficulty or issue arises. Initially I faced difficulty while getting the health insurance, as the process of United states is different from India. I applied for Fall'24 intake, I always had a dream to explore international education and aim to work in the Silicon valley to learn the industry pattern and businesses. It took me around 7 to 8 months for overall process, from giving GRE and Toefl exams to getting my Visa accepted In July I started preparing for my GRE In September I gave the exam, then gave Toefl in October and started university application in October end and November. It took some time to finish the process as it involved many things to be covered like University specific SOP, Letter of recommendation from different professors and mentors, etc. Completed applications by December mid. The best thing about this university is the location and the price. Its located in long beach in the beautiful SoCal and very close to Los Angeles. It is amazing. Really nice location, nice people and so much to explore and do. The only down side is that it is pretty expensive but atleast the weather is nice here....Read More

I really liked the program and the location. This is a well-reputed university. It is not as expensive as UCs but still has a great amount of resources. I love the resources on campus and the fact that they keep us involved. There are opportunities to work on campus as well. I wish we had placements....Read More

There are few factors on which I chose this University: 1. Academics - Its computer science program has good ranking in USA. 2.
