- The college is conveniently situated in a region which is very close to some major places like Houston, Dallas and Austin making it easier to travel to these places within 1-2 hours.
- College Station is also very college friendly which means compared to a lot of other regions, one would feel much more safer in the area.
- The college campus is huge offering different libraries, eateries, accommodation options especially for undergrads, clothing stores, etc. It is like a mini-mall in itself.
Dislikes
- Although the Aggie Bus is there, it does not operate at regular intervals during fall break or other vacation times making it difficult to commute around those times.
- Some of the buildings are very old so you may run into some or the other outage occasionally although it is easily resolvable.
- The eateries are not very budget-friendly however you may opt for monthly subscriptions of meals to get it at cheaper rates.
Campus Life
-
There are many campuses for Texas A&M University. I am currently at the main campus in College Station but there are other campuses in Galveston, Qatar, McAllen, School of Law, Washington DC, Texas A&M Heath, etc.
-
All kinds of facilities starting from the library to a dedicated sports facility called Rec Sports Center and many medical services such as AP Beutel Centre are available for students.
-
Some of the major campus festivals, clubs or popular events include Texas A&M Aggies Football matches, Aggie Park events, etc.
Accommodation
-
I found my accommodation through a Google search. The monthly rent is around 660 USD plus utilities which make it up to 742 USD on average.
-
The facilities are for a 2B2 where I have my own room and bathroom but the kitchen and drawing room are shared with another individual.
-
I would suggest asking previous tenants about how their experience has been in an apartment instead of just going for it since a lot of times the Google reviews are not right.
-
My accommodation is about 20 minutes from my college campus by bus. Most Indian students stay near the campus for about 30 minutes.
Likes
- My college is good for the engineering department and in terms of research opportunities.
- The infrastructure is very good and has all facilities.
- There are good opportunities for students who want to do part-time jobs.
Dislikes
- The MIS department of my college is degrading in terms of quality of teaching, in terms of coursework.
- No help is provided to students in their job findings and placements. Students are not allowed to Coop which is big No.
Campus Life
Texas A&M University in terms of campus life, campus infrastructure events, extracurricular activities is best and very expanded in comparison to other colleges in the USA. I really loved it.
Accommodation
I live in off-campus accommodation; the rent per month is between $500 and $600, depending on the number of shared rooms.

- Top 5 in my course in the US. Large alumni base, very good brand name.
Dislikes
- While I don't have any specific dislikes, navigating through numerous faculty issues at times was challenging. Overall, my experience was positive, but these challenges occasionally affected the university's environment.
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing. One of the most culturally diverse campus in the US.
Accommodation
Off campus housing - 2/2 apartment - USD 700 per month in rent.
Likes
- Texas A&M University being a reputed university in Texas has a large community through the United States. The curriculum, flexibility in courses and the professors are exceptional.
- Adding to this is the cost efficiency where you get to finish off your masters without burdening yourself with huge loans.
Dislikes
- One main thing I dislike is the location. The university is situated in a town or a suburb area here. Not much access to the metro facilities. But on the bright side, big cities like Houston and Austin are just 90 mins away
Campus Life
Campus is huge with various interesting things to do and clubs to join. Many events are organized for many occasions. The research facilities and laboratories are cutting edge.
Accommodation
Many good apartment communities are available nearby with an average tent of 500 dollars for a single room.
Accommodation
Live off campus $350 per month for a single room in 2bed 1bath apartment 1km away from my department. University buses have a great connectivity.
Good Program, Good Alumni Network, and closer to major cities like Houston, Austin, and Dallas.
