C M Prameswarappa has been working as the Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department at Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology, Haveri, Karnataka. He has done BE in Computer Science and Engineering from Bapuji Institute of Engg. & Technology, Davangere in 1992 and M.Tech in Software Engineering from SJCE, Mysore, in 1997 as part of his education. In the past 30 years, he has taught about 50 different courses to the Undergraduate and M.Tech students and has also guided 100 UG/PG students for their project work. Apart from this, he has worked as BOS Member of UG and PG Studies at Kuvempu University of Shivamogga for 3 years from 2001-2004 and is also a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education.
He started his professional career as a Lecturer with STJ Institute of Technology in 1993 and later on got promoted as an Assistant Professor in 1998, and then he joined SKSVM Agadi College of Engineering & Technology as an Assistant Professor in 2003 where he was later on promoted as a Head of CSE Department in 2005. After this, he worked as a Warden there and again joined the STJ Institute in 2005.
Being associated with the education sector, he has attended many state and national level events along with technical seminars, conferences and workshops conducted at different places in and out of Karnataka, and has also coordinated AICTE approval process and VTU affiliation activities for more than 15 years. Last but not the least, he has worked as an NBA Coordinator for the college.

How does your CSE Department help aspiring students to outperform and stand apart from the crowd?
Our Computer Science and Engineering Department is committed to provide quality education to students and hence we have thoroughly considered and analyzed the crucial role of IT industry in improving the life of common people to design and regularly update our teaching methodologies.
And we do have 9 state-of-the-art laboratories along with a computer center with latest systems and Operating Systems like Windows supported by Microsoft Academic Alliance Programme and Linux. An Internet facility of 100 Mbps is also available here.
And to prepare our students for this dynamic and outer competitive world so that they can stand apart from the crowd, we have adopted an industry driven curriculum which we regularly upgrade in consultation with corporate experts, organize events and activities like guest lectures, industry-interaction sessions, personality development training programs, workshops and professional visits etc. from time to time.
How does your institute take care of placement related activities and train students as per industry standards?
Our college has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell and it has played a crucial role in shaping the future of students. The prime responsibility of this cell is to provide a wonderful growth environment to students and keep them up-to-date with the latest developments, trends and requirements of the corporate sector through expert talks, training programs and industry-interaction sessions.
Along with this, maintaining good relations with reputed industries and organizations, providing best internships to students and guiding them to develop essential skills and about suitable companies where they can find good job profiles also comes under the scope of this cell.
Also, for the purpose of educating young aspirants in various technical domains, polishing their communication skills and building their confidence to mold them into a competent individuals and making them industry ready and a socially responsible citizen, events and activities including personality development workshops, guest lectures and industrial visits are conducted by the T&P Cell on a regular basis.
Which factors make the programs of your college worth pursuing and a best fit for students?
We do organize an extensive range of co-curricular activities such as seminars, technical quizzes, coding competitions, sports events, cultural fests and fun shows like treasure hunts to enhance students skills and provide them a suitable platform to showcase their unique talents.
Along with this, renowned companies like The TCS, Wipro and Tech Mahindra along with emerging startups visit our campus from time to time to recruit students for various job profiles. And we do have a stellar record of 80% placement.
So in my opinion, the learning and networking opportunities we provide to students and our placement statistics are the main factors which makes our courses unique and worth pursuing for them.
How did you train yourself and your faculty members to deliver courses to students in the best way possible?
For the purpose of training my faculty members as per industry standards and to upgrade my knowledge, faculty development programs are conducted from time to time and we also use online learning platforms to supplement our existing subject knowledge.
Along with this, I encourage them to regularly take part in seminars, webinars, training programs and events organized by other colleges. Last but not the least, they are engaged with corporate experts to work on real-time projects and improve their teaching techniques to cater to the needs of each student so that lectures could be conducted efficiently and collaboratively.
What benefits and career options would be available for students after pursuing CSE courses from your college?
The domain of CSE opens a plethora of work opportunities in the outside world for individuals having good skills and IT Engineers have always been in demand in product and service based IT Companies including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra etc.
And the students post successfully finishing the B.E (CSE) course and acquiring required skills from the Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology can work as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Data Scientist, Cybersecurity Analyst, UX/UI Designer, Software Administrator, Database Administrator, Network Engineer and Web Developer etc.
