Our college is offering a 4-years duration Bachelor of Engineering course and 2-years Master of Technology in 6 specializations including Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
And if I specifically talk about our Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, then it has been functioning since l980 and we primarily inculcate the knowledge of subjects like Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control System, Electronics, Computer Bio-Medical Instrumentation and Simulation. And well-equipped and state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratories are present on campus for the EEE Department.
Which factors make the programs of your college beneficial and worth pursuing for students?
We follow the approach of Outcome Based Education and whatever kind of activities we organize or education we provide to students, we thoroughly analyze their end goals and future requirements.
Apart from this, we regularly involve our students in research projects and also train them as per the industry needs and developments. Placement-specific training, industrial visits and guest lectures are also organized from time to time by us in collaboration with corporate experts and eminent academicians to make students aware about the skills they need to develop and how people and processes work together on ground level.
On what types of projects your EEE students are currently working at present?
Most of our students are working on projects related to embedded systems like VLSI, electrical power systems and energy systems and few of them have even analyzed the requirements of local people like Farmers and businessmen and are working on innovative solutions for their issues.
For example, ladies who want a single napkin can put the coin and take the napkins from the machine, and drone based pesticide spraying has also been developed for farmers. And the reason we give so much importance to local people is that we are located close to a rural area.
How did you train your faculty members to efficiently deliver the Engineering programs to students?
For the purpose of enhancing the skills of faculty members and training them on emerging technologies as per industry standards, we regularly send them for various kinds of training programs for a span of 2-3 days and also involve corporate experts in those sessions as and when required.
Apart from this, process related training is also provided to them to enhance their critical thinking skills, communication skills, creative thinking abilities and leadership skills.
What is the aim of your college behind offering BE and M.Tech courses in the discipline of Electrical and Electronics Engineering?
The objective of our college behind offering the BE and M.Tech program in EEE is to produce competent and disciplined Engineers by developing a center for practical excellence and research for our students.
Apart from this, our aim is to offer consultancy services to various industries by providing them a suitable workforce, enriching the human resource for the technical advancement of our country and developing trained professionals to discover solutions for on-going global challenges.
What career options would be available to students after pursuing the courses from your college?
A plethora of work opportunities would be available to competent Engineers having required skills and in-depth knowledge of Electrical and Electronics related subjects. And students after pursuing the Bachelor or Masters in various Engineering specializations from Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology, can work on n public administration and civil services domains or can even do central or state government jobs for example the Electricity Board.
Apart from this, they can opt the domain of Entrepreneurship and become Job givers or can go for higher studies.
