Being a faculty of the Electrical Engineering department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

Being a faculty member of the Electrical department, I have several responsibilities I need to fulfil. For starters, I need to work to prepare the academic almanack while also monitoring the progress of class work. I monitor the syllabus coverage, organise student counselling and mentoring sessions, and direct and supervise the student activity program.

How do you tend to establish health relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Since I started working here, I have found many ways to establish healthy relations with the students and faculty members. It is essential to develop mutual trust with the students through communication and to always be there for them. We always consider our student's perspectives in order to understand the matter at hand according to them. We also show students care and try to be friendly with them so that we may help them solve their problems, academic or personal.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry- oriented?

I can bring a practical approach to my subjects by focusing on the in-demand industrial skills that are required by organisations. I also bring in a practical approach with the help of industrial visits so that students can see their skills in practice in real life. This also helps them understand their subjects in a detailed manner and have real-life work knowledge so that it will be easy for them to adapt themselves when recruited.

How do you help your student to cope with the competition being so high in the outside world?

We try to create an atmosphere of excitement among the students by providing them with additional knowledge besides what they get from their books. This helps them to know about the current affairs of their domain by doing industrial training, providing them with seminars and webinars, and guest lectures in order to get them detailed knowledge about their subjects. They are prepared to handle any situation at the workspace with the skills they acquire here.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real world challenges?

We do offer numerous extracurricular activities at our college. We have programs to enhance the skills of the students, like sports, music, yoga, meditation, and arts and crafts. We hold competitions in these fields, which helps enhance the skills and confidence of the students.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

I do have certain valuable advice that I would like to give to my students. In order to have a prosperous career, you must seek out internship opportunities and interact with experts in the industry. Keep learning and keeping your skills up-to-date. It is also vital to stay focused during this phase of your life, as it can set you up for success in the future.
