In your vast experience in the field of academia, what is something about Siddhartha Institute of Technology and Sciences excited you to join the organization?
When I decided to relocate to Hyderabad in Telangana, I found a large number of colleges in the region, and among them, a significant number were situated in Hyderabad city. My primary goal was to identify an institution with a financially stable management capable of fostering growth and development. During my research, Siddhartha Institute of Technology and Sciences (SITS) emerged as a standout choice. It became evident that SITS was distinguished by its commitment to providing top-notch facilities and infrastructure. What set it apart was the management's unwavering dedication to investing in the college's advancement. This aspect was crucial for me, as it indicated a supportive and robust foundation that could facilitate the institution's progress.
Choosing a college with forward-thinking and resourceful management like SITS sets the stage for a fulfilling educational journey and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the institution's growth.
As a Principal of the institution, what is the USP or what are the differentiating factors that make SITS stand out from other colleges in the city?
Our campus, strategically situated in a prime location, is in close proximity to the Uppal Metro station, merely less than ten kilometers away. This advantageous location ensures excellent accessibility for students, parents, and all stakeholders. The convenience of reliable and efficient transportation facilities further enhances the overall accessibility of the campus. One notable feature of our campus is its seamless integration of infrastructure and facilities that cater to both academic and extracurricular needs. Students and faculty have the flexibility to engage in various activities beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. This includes conducting research, participating in laboratory exercises, and exploring opportunities for hands-on learning experiences. In addition to the academic advantages, our campus takes pride in providing exceptional residential facilities. Both boys' and girls' hostels are situated within the campus, boasting a combined capacity exceeding a thousand. This arrangement ensures that students have continuous access to the rich array of amenities and resources available on campus.
How well is SITS focusing on maintaining industry relationships with companies to leverage them for live projects, training, and placements for the students?
We take pride in having a dedicated team, comprising three full-time placement officers and an additional team of more than ten professionals, solely focused on training and placement initiatives. Our placement team is actively engaged in preparing our students for the competitive job market. Through extensive training programs, our team ensures that students are well-equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful placement process. The collective efforts of our placement officers and team have resulted in securing impressive placement packages, with offers reaching up to INR 25 LPA. Recognising the importance of early preparation, we go beyond the regular curriculum. As early as the second year, our students undergo specialised training in crucial areas such as arithmetic, verbal, and logical reasoning skills so that, by the time of their placements, they will be well prepared.

We are in times where the dynamics of education and industries are rapidly changing. What are your strategies to ensure that the latest changes are incorporated into the curriculum of the programs offered by the institution?
We have held UGC accreditation status for ten years, granting us autonomy in shaping our academic landscape. Unlike affiliated colleges constrained by university syllabi, our autonomous status empowers us to dynamically revise and update our syllabus regularly. The process of syllabus development is a collaborative effort involving a governing body meeting that brings together academic dignitaries and industry experts. This forum serves as a platform to deliberate on the integration of essential and cutting-edge technological skills into our curriculum. By aligning our syllabus with industry requirements, we ensure that our students are not only academically proficient but are also equipped with the latest skills demanded by the professional landscape. This flexibility allows us to stay abreast of emerging trends and technological advancements. Consequently, our students graduate not just with theoretical knowledge but with a practical skill set that makes them industry-ready.
What are the initiatives implemented at SITS to cover the gap between Academia and Real Industry world?
One significant aspect we follow in the organisation is conducting regular hackathons, in-house training sessions, and projects. These projects are diverse, falling into two categories: those supervised by academic mentors and those guided by industry experts. When students engage in projects under the guidance of industry supervisors, they benefit from the wealth of practical knowledge these professionals bring from their experience in the field. This direct exposure to industry practices provides our students with a valuable understanding of real-world scenarios. It goes beyond theoretical concepts taught in classrooms, offering a firsthand glimpse into the current trends, challenges, and innovations within the industry. The insights gained from projects under industry supervision are seamlessly integrated into classroom discussions. This bridge between theory and practical application ensures a well-rounded education for our students. This approach creates a harmonious balance between academic instruction and industry exposure.
What kind of support and assistance does your institute provide to students for Entrepreneurship and Innovation?
In our institution, we recognise the diverse career aspirations of our students across various branches such as electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical, civil, and more. While Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students often gravitate towards software industry jobs, those in core branches tend to focus on companies aligned with their specific interests. Understanding the fluctuations in the job market, we place a strong emphasis on empowering our students to explore entrepreneurial paths. To facilitate the entrepreneurial journey, we leverage the support available through MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) funds provided by the UGC. This financial backing assists our students in realising their innovative ideas and translating them into viable business initiatives. We aim to instill a sense of initiative and self-reliance in our students, preparing them to take charge of their careers and contribute meaningfully to the industry.
What is your vision for the coming years as a Principal of Siddhartha Institute of Technology and Sciences College?
In recognising the dynamic nature of technology and the ever-evolving educational landscape, I would like to focus on and place paramount importance on our faculty as the major asset of our institution. We understand that to ensure our students receive up-to-date and relevant education, our faculty must continually upgrade their skills and knowledge. My goal is to equip them with the necessary skill sets to effectively impart cutting-edge knowledge to our students. I would like to plan short-term and long-term programs focused on addressing immediate needs and updates in the academic and technological domains. These could include workshops, seminars, and training sessions conducted by industry experts and seasoned educators. By prioritising faculty development with the latest required skill sets, we ensure that our educators are not just teachers but mentors who inspire and guide students with the most relevant and contemporary knowledge.
