What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?
When it comes to the latest courses offered by BLMCE, we have two programs namely B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. which have been running for the last seven years and this is one of the finest colleges of Delhi/NCR region.
Being the HoD of BLMCE, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
Leadership, in my opinion, is always based on building consensus. I believe a leader needs to have a vision that everybody can provide guidance and support to realize the vision in a manner that is. A leader again should be able to listen so that consensus is achieved. A leader should always encourage teamwork, as the outcome of teamwork is always something better than something driven from the top. Also, diversity of viewpoints can be assessed.

What would you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?
There is one to one interaction with teachers. Second, we provide as much experience as possible. There are ample opportunities where students can participate in the co curricular activities. Every friday, one co curricular activity is organized in which students can participate it could be for dance competition debate declaration on the spot competition we have theater hall where they perform Nukkad nataks, so it’s not only academics, we also talk about overall personalities of the students because they are going to become teacher’s even if they not participated ever in their life we encourage them to participate at least ones because if they can that yes i can they can encourage their student to say that yes you can also so we try to give them all areas we develop them in all areas of their lives.
What are some valuable insights of the program that you are offering at your institute/dept.?
What makes our institute different is the basic value system of bharti vidya bhawan, the bharti vidya bhawan logo itself says sanskriti and sanskrit so apart from all new technologies and all new knowledge we try that our student should be grounded in indian ethos and culture so that they can transmit that to the next generation that is what makes this institute stand apart from the rest of the institute. We conduct lots of lectures and workshops on Indian Veda and some time on Geeta and teaching of Geeta and Upanishad can benefit teachers and pass on to the next generation.
How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?
We have a placement cell which conducts activities and we have our own School here namely Mehta School and it recruits some of our good students who have been taking care of our 60% of student who don’t want to go for higher education they have join school, we do recommend to school but the school conducts its own interviews. Our students apply and they get selected. If I talk about last year’s data, 30% of students pursuing higher education and 60% got selected for the job.
How did you train yourself/ faculty to deliver this program to the students?
All our faculty members go for faculty programs for development. We regularly have in house faculty development programs and the teachers are updating themselves on a regular basis and again we all share each other’s experience. We go for workshops so learning from each other also and learning from outside towards also doing this on regular features.
