Dr. N. Mahadevan is the HOD of Pharmacognosy at United College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore. Earlier he worked as a Professor at the College of Pharmacy, King Khalid University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D degree from the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai. Prof. Mahadevan served in various capacities, as head of the department and principal. He has 28 years of teaching and research experience. He published more than 90 research and review papers. His area of interest is phytochemistry, herbal drug standardisation, and herbal drug development. He was involved in developing two herbal formulations sponsored by well-known herbal companies.
Dr. N. Mahadevan is an expert in the HPTLC analysis of herbal drugs. He has also organised various national and international conferences. He was also invited as a speaker for AICTE sponsored staff development programme. Dr. N. Mahadevan presented a research article at an international conference in Lyon, France.

Throughout your career, you have held significant positions at your company. What are the fundamental components that uphold connections to the educational field?
My desire to educate people has always been strong, which is why I became a college lecturer. In no time at all, I was promoted from lecturer to professor. After receiving my post-graduation degree, I conducted research and directed graduate, post-graduate, and PhD students.

Even though the educational systems of India and other nations differ, pharmaceutical students can obtain instruction, especially in pharmacy practice, at numerous institutes and universities worldwide.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities at United College of Pharmacy are?
There are many duties associated with teaching at an institution. Teaching and creating a positive learning environment for kids are my main responsibilities. My responsibilities as a teacher also include carrying out research, planning conferences, publishing, giving presentations at conferences, providing course materials to students, and taking part in extracurricular and co-curricular activities that help the students.
What do you think United College of Pharmacy's top priority ought to be during the next ten years?
Our United College of Pharmacy's primary goal is to prepare students for careers in pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical business by offering them ongoing teaching in the newest technology.
In your opinion, what are the primary challenges that UNITED COLLEGE OF PHARMACY and higher education, in general, are facing?
At the United College of Pharmacy, there aren't many significant challenges. The use of new technologies in the classroom may provide challenges. Students at our university have the opportunity to advance both professionally and personally. Our teachers assist the students in becoming future medical professionals.
