Dr. K. Someshwer Rao is the Principal at Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce and Sciences. He worked as a Principal of Badruka College of Commerce & Arts, one of the reputed colleges in the field of Commerce Education, from 1984 to 2020. He has 38 years of teaching experience and worked in various capacities like NSS Officer, Academic Co-Ordinator, NAAC, IQAC Coordinator, and Vice-Principal of the College for several years. He completed M.Com.,(1983) and Ph.D.(1996) from Kakatiya University, Warangal. He authored 8 Textbooks and published 15 articles in various National level journals. He has attended more than 40 national seminars and conferences and presented papers. He was a Member of the Board of Studies, (Three times) at Osmania University and One term as a member of the Faculty of Commerce, at Osmania University. He also worked as Co-Chairperson for sessions two times at All India Commerce Conferences (Ajmer & Hyderabad). He was the Sectional Chairperson at the All India Commerce Conference held at Aurangabad in December 2022. He received the Best Commerce Faculty Awards from various organizations. Under his supervision, 2 scholars were awarded Ph. Ds from Osmania University.

Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce & Sciences offers 9 courses in the UG program and 5 courses in the PG program. The latest courses added are B.Com (Business Analytics) and BBA for UG Programs in 2020. The first Batch of these courses was sent out in 2023. This program is designed to equip students with essential leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, enabling them to excel in various fields and take on leadership roles with confidence. The students are furnished with a unique blend of business data acumen and analytical proficiency, making them highly sought-after professionals capable of contributing significantly to organizational growth and success.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

As a teacher, our happiness knows no bounds when our institute students secured gold medals in Osmania University's final semester end examinations competing with lakhs of students as well. The majority of our students are pursuing higher studies in foreign universities which gives us and strengthens the confidence levels of the forthcoming students and encourages the lecturers as well. Our admissions also excel in all the UG courses through the DOST (Degree Online Services, Telangana) portal. It gives me immense pleasure when my students adore high positions in academic and administrative roles. Even my pride continued when I experienced my students coming to my college to recruit the students for their corporate companies where they were in excellent positions.

What do you find most difficult about being a Principal?

Being a principal comes with its own set of challenges and responsibilities including balancing multiple roles, handling conflicts, navigating new and ever-changing educational policies, building a positive employee culture, dealing with high parental expectations, and many more responsibilities. Despite of these challenges, being a principal also offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, the satisfaction of positively impacting students’ lives, and the joy of seeing the teaching fraternity thrive under effective leadership.

What is your vision for Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce and Sciences in the next five years?

My vision is to empower the students with all the knowledge and guidance they need to become worthy in the corporate fields of commerce and sciences, providing holistic platforms for the self-development of students with value-based guidance, grooming the students, and providing quality education to become global personality equipped with global employable skills enabling the students gain all-round development and growing with multiple energies that will make them complete man.
