Dr. Satyendra Kumar Singh is an Associate Professor & HOD at Chandra Bhanu Gupta Krishi Mahavidyalaya. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology with a specialization in Entomology. He has over 16 years of experience in the teaching field. He has published more than 2000 agriculture and social advisory farmer and welfare publications in newspapers like Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, Swatantra Chetna and so on.

Being a Faculty of the Zoology department Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

We have a good relationship with the students here and our teachers teach all the students in the laboratory and take them to the field, where we are collaborating with the farmers and working with the students.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

We work closely with the students in our institute which creates excitement among the students in teaching everything so that students learn quickly and can move ahead in their life.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

Skill development programs like beekeeping, mushroom color, integrated vegetable management and integrated fish farming are conducted here, which develop the skills of the students and prepare them to go in their specific field which is their favorite.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real world challenges?

Yes, all types of activities are organized in our college. Like quiz competition, essay writing and poster presentation in which students participate, which develops their personality as well as their skills.

What do you see as the department’s/ college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?

We have over 1700 students here. For that, we have appointed mentors who keep the details of all the students with them and whenever needed, we contact the guardian of the student and tell them about the information of their children and their performance.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

In today's time, the only advice to children is to maintain a social bond among the teachers and listen to whatever the teacher tells them. Only then will the child be able to move forward, as unemployment is very high these days, so to avoid this, children will first have to improve themselves and discuss with the teacher on time. Must attend class. By doing all this the child will go far ahead.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/ dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

This is a very good question. We are going to conduct a B.Voc Course in our Mahavidyalaya very soon as this is the fastest growing in India. In this course we offer a software diploma course. This helps students with job ready knowledge and skills and make them right employable in the industry in specific roles.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

As everything is available online, most of the jobs are also related to Technologies and Computer Systems through this program. Students can gain skills and knowledge in software development from which students learn how to support any company’s application, website, and data. They can opt for this program as a career option to get a better future.
