Mr. Ayush Gulati is the Managing Director of the Purvanchal Institute of Dental, Nursing, and Paramedical Sciences. With a bachelor’s degree in dentistry from Saraswati Dental College and Hospital, he also holds a master’s degree in public health from the Australian National University. Before his current employment, he worked at Multicultural Youth Services ACT as a Multicultural Livelihoods Programme Associate and as a Programme Associate at UNAIDS.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector? 

I adhere to a committed leadership approach centered on the core belief of "Fostering Excellence and Innovation in Education." My efforts are dedicated to promoting forward-thinking concepts, establishing a robust infrastructure, and incorporating technologically advanced teaching methodologies with a clear vision of elevating the institute to a distinguished level in higher education. Our journey spans 17 years, starting in 2006, during which we have been deliberately striving to ensure our students receive top-notch education quality and ample opportunities for holistic development. Embracing the philosophy of unity, competence, and cooperation, we have consistently followed the principle that collective efforts yield greater results. I am delighted to share that our group, the PIDS family, boasts over 1500 members, and I am proud to be one among them. Our cohesive team is dedicated to contributing to the ongoing growth of the group. 


How does the curriculum of your Institute ensure the best practice of industry? 

In the era of globalised industry and intense competition, the world has transformed into a global village. It is imperative that we avoid isolation and instead establish collaborations with hospitals and industries. Our objective is to explore academics, engage students in collaborative research, and facilitate a practical approach. PIDS is attuned to the necessity of providing industry practise to both students and faculty. The overarching goal is to provide students with practical experience, exposure, and the skills required for the contemporary job market. To realise this vision, PIDS has actively worked on building a network with numerous institutions and hospitals. We are keen on expanding our institutional partnerships and exploring new collaborations with esteemed universities and institutions.


Being the Chairman of Institute, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your Institute? 

For an academic institution, maintaining a robust connection and interaction with the industry is both pivotal and challenging. The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and RPA-based systems often necessitates frequent upskilling of human resources, presenting a significant challenge. A recent report by NASSCOM highlighted the prediction that, within the next four years, 40% of existing human resources will need to be replaced with individuals possessing newer skills. I see it as not only a challenge in supplying students with the required skill set but also an opportunity for institutes like ours to proactively adapt and make necessary arrangements. Recognizing this challenge, we've established specialised labs where students can practise on platforms and technologies aligned with their interests. These labs include the Business Intelligence Lab, IoT Lab, Mobile Application Development Lab, Data Science Lab, and Programming with Python and R. This strategic initiative has significantly enhanced the employability prospects of our students.


Any insights into how your Institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds? 

We are committed to acknowledging and fostering the potential of students who demonstrate excellence. Our institution has meticulously devised various scholarship programs, considering the economic and social backgrounds of individuals, to ensure that deserving students are not deprived of education due to financial constraints. Special scholarship provisions are in place for dependents of defence services workers, particularly for students who have lost a parent. Additionally, we extend scholarships to meritorious students based on their performance in qualifying examinations. It's gratifying to highlight that a substantial number of students across different courses at the institute have benefited from these scholarships, bringing honour not only to the institution but also to their families.

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

Any advice for the upcoming students who are in school? 

Rather than labelling it as a failure, we view setbacks as stepping stones that bring you closer to success. It might not unfold exactly as you envisioned, but with a bit more perseverance and dedication, your goals are within reach. To students, my advice is to pursue your aspirations with a combination of heartfelt passion and intellectual discernment when selecting a career. Life is truly remarkable—confront your past without remorse, navigate your present with assurance, and approach the future with preparedness instead of fear.
