Dr. Peeyush Tewari is the Director of BIT Mesra Off Campus, Jaipur. He has done his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from IIT Roorkee. He has also done PG diploma in Industrial Management as well as PG Diploma in Computer Applications and System Analysis. He has academic and research experience of around two and half decades. During his career journey, he has served on various academic positions such as lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor. He has served at various campuses of BIT Mesra which includes BIT International Centre, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, BIT RANCHI, International Centre, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, BIT Off Campus Noida and BIT Mesra main campus. Apart from academics, he has also worked on various administrative positions like HOD - Sciences, HOD - Mathematics, In-charge Examination, Academic Coordinator, In-charge Disciplinary Committee, In-charge, Research Coordination, and In-charge Admissions, etc. He has worked as the first Hindi Adhikari at BIT Mesra, Ranchi.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the Education Industry?

The factor which keeps me connected is basically learning as it gives the opportunity of learning new things, giving new opportunity knowledge, getting new things. It’s a great experience. If I had not been in the education sector, I would not have had this much experience and have learnt so many new things. We also get to meet new people in this field, new places, cultures, etc.

What is your leadership philosophy?

Leadership should be dedication & behavior. Dedication is very important because with it you can never do anything or achieve anything. And my most important point is to deliver the task on time, take a calculated risk for doing something new and in a limited time you can do it, because if you don’t achieve things on time you lose the time from the other activities. One should try to achieve in a limited time. Do a lot of practice in the field you want to go to as time is the most important key. 

According to you, what makes the education industry the best industry to work in?

The education industry the best Industry to work In because the aim of the society, it’s the comfortable industry, learning comes from this industries, Interactions, also there are a lot of new things, a lot of new field in the education society, one as plenty of options, careers to select according to the interest he or she has. Even if a student has a counselor who guides him or her for the upcoming opportunities, goals, etc. according to me the educational industry is actually the best one has a lot to do.

How do you plan on using the immense knowledge & experience that you have gained in the education industry?

It's actually easy for me as even before I have shared this every place has different experience, even such as Jaipur, it's actually different so I even learn here, so it has different environment different city, so all the experience which one gets from different places & cities is very important & also gains ones experience, being here is itself learnings happening.

How can your college be more welcoming to the students of different economic backgrounds?

In this college we have different scholarship, not only who perform better but also for students who are weaker, both types of students are covered, we also have alumany tie ups they are very helpful, as some students could not afford studies or some medical issues or any other issues, so they are very much helpful for us atb this times. 

What do you think about your responsibility and roles towards the college and students?

My role is basically in their career building, giving them an opportunity to build their career and for this I would first like to train them in various positions, in various areas surrounding lab knowledge which will help students in learning. We also provide them internships, education tours, so they learn partially. Practical knowledge is very important for students. Because in future they have to perform practically only.
