IIT Kharagpur CAT Cut off 2023 (Out), Registration Begins @som.iitkgp.ac.in, MBA Admission Process 2024-26

IIT Kharagpur CAT 2023 Cut off is released along with the admission criteria for MBA admissions 2024-26. The qualifying CAT 2023 Cut off percentile is 90 for the general/ EWS category, 81 for the OBC category, and 60 for the SC/ ST/ PwD categories. 

The application process has started with the release of CAT 2023 Result on December 21, 2023. Candidates securing the minimum required CAT cut off are eligible to apply for IIT Kharagpur MBA admission till February 5, 2024. 

As per the selection criteria of IIT Kharagpur MBA 2024-26, The final selection of the candidate will be based on the CAT 2023 score, Application Rating (AR) score, and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the institute.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Eligibility Criteria

IIT Kharagpur follows the following eligibility criteria to provide admission to its 2 year MBA course:

• Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree of 4 years in Pharmacy/ Technology/ Engineering/ Medicine/ relevant disciplines, or a Master's degree in Economics/Science/Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s Level) with a minimum of 60% (6.5 CGPA) for GN/ OBC and 55% (6.0 CGPA) for SC/ ST/ PwD.

• Final year candidates of both Bachelor's and Master's are also eligible to apply for MBA courses. If selected, such candidates need to submit the relevant marksheet and documents before May, 2024.
• After these criteria, candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their CAT score and personal interviews conducted by the institution.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Application Process

After qualifying for the CAT exam, qualified candidates need to visit the official website of IIT Kharagpur to apply for the IIT Kharagpur MBA course. The following steps have to follow to fill in the application for the IIT Kharagpur MBA course:

• Candidates first need to visit the ERP registration portal of VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur: erp.iitkgp.ac.in/IITKGPApplications/index
• Fill in the registration details by providing the required personal details, academic records, contact details, uploading the documents, photographs, and signatures as per the required dimensions.
• Submit the filled application form by making a payment of INR 1600 ( INR 800 for SC/ST/PwD) as the application fee.
• Finally, click on the submit tab and take a printout of the filled application form for future reference.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Selection Criteria

IIT Kharagpur follows a 2-stage process for MBA admission. The two stages are:

Stage I: In the first stage of selection criteria, candidates will be shortlisted for PI on the basis of their CAT 2023 score, their past academic results, work experience, and gender diversity factors. Candidates have to qualify the minimum overall CAT cut off 2023 tabulated below:

For shortlisting the candidates for PI, the overall CAT score scaled down to 20 will be added to the application rating score (out of 20) and Gender Diversity Factor scores (4 marks). Different application ratings are designed for 10th, and 12th marks, UG and PG marks, professional courses, and work experiences.

Application Rating (AR) for Class 10th and 12th marks

As per the marks scored in classes 10th and 12th, a candidate will get the rating score for IIT Kharagpur MBA admission.

Application Rating for UG and PG Marks

In the case of CGPA, marks percentage will be converted: 60+ (40/3.5) × ((CGPA secured/Total CGPA) × 10- 6.5)

Application Rating based on Professional Courses

This table will be applicable to those candidates who have completed their Master's in other streams like ME/M.Tech/MS/M.Pharma/CS/CA/CMA/CFA/FRM.
