Registration is an important step for students who wish to appear for CAT exam. So, candidates must be extremely careful and avoid mistakes during CAT exam registration. Before starting with filling out the application form, candidates need to register to get their unique CAT User ID and Password. Make sure you provide the correct name, date of birth, email address, mobile number for all further communication. Be very careful as these entries once submitted cannot be changed under any circumstances. However, IIM allows you to retrieve your CAT user ID and password in case you forget.

CAT 2023 application form filling process is divided into six steps: personal details, academic details, work experience, programme, test city preferences, and payment. Only candidates who successfully complete the application process and pay the online application fee of INR 2400 before the due date are allowed to appear for the exam.

Candidates need to provide a lot of information like qualifications, documents, certificates, photo & signature, work experience and other details. It is therefore advised to go through the below-mentioned points for error-free CAT 2023 registration and submission of the application form.

Use the Compatible Browsers Only

Candidates are advised to use a laptop or desktop for CAT 2023 Registration. Following are the recommended browsers to fill out CAT 2023 application form:

Use Valid Email ID and Mobile Number for Registration

Candidates must provide a valid and unique email address and mobile number during CAT 2023 registration as the OTP for verification and notification for CAT 2023 admit card & CAT 2023 results are received on this same email ID and mobile number. Candidates must note that the email ID and mobile number cannot be changed once submitted.

Review and Verify CAT 2023 Application Before Final Submission

Cross-check and verify all the details provided by you in CAT 2023 application form. All information must be valid and same as mentioned on the official documents as this information will be verified by the allotted institutes at the time of admission.

However, if by any chance wrong information is furnished, then you can wait for CAT application form correction window to open for editing the uploaded photograph, signature, other documents and test city preferences. In case of other wrong details, you can also fill a new CAT 2023 application form using a new valid email ID and phone number before the last date of registration.

Select the Test City Wisely

Although you can select up to six locations as your desired test city for CAT 2023, the actual allocation is done based on the seat availability in that specific center and location. Additionally, you won't be able to select your own CAT 2023 exam time slot (morning, afternoon, or evening). So, pick your six CAT test city preferences wisely according to your location. Application Fee Payment

CAT 2023 application submission will be completed only after the payment of the application fee. CAT application form fee can be paid through credit card, debit card, UPI or net banking. Use a functional card and enter all the details for the payment transaction carefully. Candidates must save the generated payment receipt for reference.

How to Register for CAT 2023?

Candidates can register for CAT 2023 online by visiting the official website – iimcat.ac.in till the registration window is open. Candidates are advised to have a stable internet connection and a suitable device before starting the registration process. Follow the below-mentioned process to register for CAT 2023 error-free:

• Visit the official website of CAT 2023 - Click Here
• Click on the ‘Register’ button available under the ‘New Candidate Registration for CAT 2023’ box.
• Fill out the required details such as the Name of the Candidate, DOB, Email Address, Country, and Mobile Number and click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button to complete the registration process.
• Now, fill in and submit the CAPTCHA code as shown in the image.
• Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and click on the ‘Validate the OTP’ tab to verify your Email ID and mobile number.
• After validation, click on ‘Reverify’ and verify your basic details by ticking the check box.
• Submit the registration form.
• After submitting CAT 2023 Registration form, you will receive the User ID and Password on the registered email address and/or on the registered mobile number.
• Now, login to the official website as a ‘Registered Candidate’ using your User ID and Password.

• After login, you will be redirected to the ‘Applicant Details Page’ with all your basic personal details.
• Navigate to the ‘Go to Application’ tab available at the top right side to fill out CAT 2023 application form.
• Add all the necessary details in the application form, such as personal details, academic details, work experience, programme details and test city preferences.
• Candidates must attach all the required documents according to the prescribed specifications.
• Now, tick the checkbox in the declaration tab and enter the CAPTCHA and proceed with payment.
• Pay the non-refundable amount of INR 2400 (INR 1200 for SC/ST/PwD category) as a CAT 2023 application fee through the available payment mode.
• After successful payment, the candidate will receive an application confirmation email on their registered email ID.
