Faculty – TEZU is gifted with more highly qualified and experienced faculties than others. Placement – NITs and TEZU have had a good record of placement in recent years. Ans. Before choosing an institute, think about what your requirements are. Here are some points that might help you make a decision. If your aim is a job in a corporate sector then the NITs will definitely be better options. Opt for either NIT Meghalaya or Nagaland. Do not compare their placements with older NITs as it could prove disappointing. Tezpur University (TU) is also known to provide good placement opportunities but it is more concentrated to only the CSE department. You may get placements from a few IT companies, but overall placements are concerned NITs are definitely better than TU. Students who are interested in learning and exploring research fields can opt for TU as well. Tezpur University has very good faculty strength in ECE & CSE. The two departments are much older too. The CSE faculty and labs of TU are better than NIT Silchar. TU has got a good research environment as there are multiple departments of Science and Engineering, which is not the case of the mentioned NITs. Therefore it is suggested that if you aim for an immediate job opportunity, go for NITs. Ans. It is better to go for B.Tech at Tezpur University (TU) than Assam Engineering College (AEC). Following are the reasons for the same: TU has great faculty and infrastructure, and you will get a lot of exposure. The only drawback is the lack of placements. Being a new institution very few companies visit the college. AEC on the other hand, is very old, and has a strong alumni network. Placement is better at AEC compared to TU, but still it keeps fluctuating which makes students unsure. Ans. I have friends from both Tezpur University and SLIET Sangrur. Based on the conversations I had with them, I will say for CSE TU is far better. The CSE department of Tezpur University has a great faculty base. It is definitely better than SLIET. The university focuses on practical approaches rather than theoretical knowledge. Apart from this, it provides an amazing opportunity for students to work with the Government of India-funded projects. The placements at TU are any day better than SLIET. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered was between 3.5 LPA-10 LPA. So, TU is better than SLIET in all respects.
