Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT), located at Tatisilwai, Ranchi, is an engineering college approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Ranchi University.
Cambridge Institute of Technology institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different branches of engineering and technology. At the postgraduate level, they also provide programs in business management. The Jharkhand Government conducts a Common Entrance Examination for the selection of students to engineering programs offered by different colleges in the state.
B.Tech. is offered under five specializations for a duration of four years. To be eligible for admission to the program, the candidates must possess a 10+2 qualification with 50% marks in PCM. Admission to the program will be granted on the basis of the JCECEB or JEE Main scores.
CIT publishes a merit list once the counseling round of JCECEB is completed. The final round of admission to the undergraduate program is done through the candidate’s performance in the senior secondary school.
At the PG level, the institute offers an M.Tech. with two specializations and an MBA with three specializations. Admission to the M.Tech. program will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the GATE exam. MBA aspirants must possess a valid score in the CMAT exam.

Cambridge Institute of Technology Ranchi B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria
B.Tech. - Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination and has obtained 45% (General Category) and 40% (Reserved Category) in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
B.Tech (Lateral entry)
- Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution, with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.
- Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.
- Provided that in case of students belonging to B.Sc. stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first-year engineering program along with the second year subjects.
- Provided further that, the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
Cambridge Institute of Technology Ranchi B.Tech. Selection Criteria
Admission to the B.Tech. program will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B).
JEE Main qualified candidates are also eligible for admission.
Note- The remaining seats after taking admission through JCECEB & JEE (Main) will be filled up with such students on the basis of marks obtained at 10+2/Intermediate. Such students may fill up application form directly in the institute & their selection will be made on merit.
