Placement Experience:
The Tech branches are new so placement is worse. Petroleum and Chemical branch is far better in terms of placement, PSUs come for them only. Tech Branches are shifted to Bangalore Campus for their final year, for batch 2021 they saw few companies highest was by PhonePe 24lpa. Now for my batch 2022 , we have still time till next year. few companies visited our campus highest was by Flipkart 33lpa.

Placement Experience:
As of now , CSE graduating students are getting placed. Out of 120 , 35 are placed in companies like ZOMATO, PHONEPE , JP MORGAN, Zepto, WNS etc. 50% on campus , 50% off campus. Last year, all the CSE students will be in Bangalore centre of RGIPT for better placement offers. 3 years at jais campus and last year at Bangalore campus. Placements till now are not good.
I want to enter to a good ai company .
Placement percentage is low but package is good , all above 10 Lpa.

For tech branches this college is a newbie but yes avg package of tech branches was 10 LPA and for non tech was 12 LPA with 100% placements. The time when IIT students are not getting placed this college is giving placements.

The placement of RGIPT is really good in therms of Chemicals and Petroleum Branches but for Technical Branches like CSE and MnC we have to face a lot and even go for off campus placements.
If you are having great skills you will land a good job but if you are only focused on the academic then there is a problem also 7.5 Grade is minimum to sit in placement interview for tech students if placement are there in the college itself.
I have my plans of working in the financial department of companies.

- Tech placements are not like other colleges.
Placement Experience:
In my college most of the students from chemical and petroleum branch get placed . Since tech branches started few years ago, tech placements are less and have average of 9 lakh per annum. In chemical and petroleum branch highest package this year is 27 lakhs per annum and lowest 6 lakhs per annum. Almost 80 to 90 percent students get placed .

The average package is 10,00,000. All the PSUs come to the college to hire students from Petroleum and Chemical Engineering branches. The placement of the tech branches is increasing as they were newly opened. The placement season starts from the 7th semester.

Placements of the college are good, This college specialises in placements for chemical and petroleum branches while tech branches are recently opened in this college so the placement opportunities are improving each year. Students are sent to bengaluru campus for their placements in their last year. The placement rate is around 90 percent here. My aim is for on campus and off campus placements both. Off campus placements are quite more competitive than on campus ones.

- Very Bad Placements for the technical branches.
Placement Experience:
In the 7th semester we are eligible to sit for placements.In CSE 14 out 60 were placed and not much known companies visit college.Highest on-campus was 10 LPA and average was 8.1 LPA ,with median 9 LPA.

Reliance Industries, Ongc, Aban Offshore, Vedanta and other who are metals and mining are the ones that com her for placements. I am in love with the placements as almost 80 or more students out of 100 are placed every year and with a starting salary of no less than 70-75k a month.

Should I go for IIT Hyderabad chemical engineering or RGIPT petroleum in terms of placements?

I find it very illogical when people try to compare and evaluate an institute's worth solely on the basis of placements. There are many other crucial factors that affect your career prospects some of which have been discussed below
- Infrastructure: The campus and infrastructure of IIT Hyderabad are much better than RGIPT, except that RGIPT has better accommodation facilities than IIT Hyderabad.
- Faculty: Both colleges have equally qualified and experienced faculty pools
- Alumni network: Undoubtedly, IIT Hyderabad fares better in this aspect than RGIPT
- Extracurricular activities: IIT Hyderabad again is a winner here
- Peer group: IIT Hyderabad has better and bigger peer groups. RGIPT has smaller peer groups and thus faces a slight disadvantage in this aspect.
- Fees structure: RGIPT does not have a fee waiver policy for General and OBC candidates while in IIT you can be eligible for a fee waiver.
- Placement: Placements-wise, RGIPT Petroleum gives an edge to IIT Hyderabad. This is because Petroleum engineers are highly paid globally. The majority of the placements are in core sector jobs, and thus have better job opportunities than a chemical engineer. Chemical Engineers rarely get placed in core sectors and end up with non-core jobs. Basically, IIT Hyderabad has better noncore opportunities while RGIPT has better core job opportunities.
Overall, IIT Hyderabad is better than RGIPT in many other aspects and is preferable to RGIPT any day.
