The college offers very limited seats so to get a seat in the College is a little hard. To get an admission the students have to go through an entrance exam and score good marks in order to get an admission in the college.

Maths has always excited me since my childhood, I was sure of doing this course after my graduation and from this specific university. I had to give a written entrance exam for the admission and I also had to give an interview.

The course I chose is very difficult and getting admission for the same is tough. I had applied for this course at the university, I had done masters in maths and that was taken into consideration later I had to give an entrance exam.

Admission:

I filled out the admission form and was preparing for the entrance exam for a long time. I was called for the Interview round as I was able to clear the entrance. My interview was taken by a panel of three and I made that through.

Who does not want to even study free but also receive a monthly stipend for studying in one of the premium institute of the country? Well, I wanted to so I prepared like a nut to crack the entrance and the interview and I was lucky enough to get admission in my first take.

Admission:

Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore offers master of maths to the students who have passed graduation in maths from a recognized Indian university. The students are required to apply for the program and then appear for the entrance exam. Based on the merit, students are called for the interview.

Remarks:

It's awesome. If you want to study Stat or Math, it is one of the best places for you in India(for Stat it's undoubtedly best). Academics is tough but if you attend all classes, that shouldn't be an issue.

Having to know some people studying at both Simsree and KJ Somaiya and here are some things that you should know. They both are equally good.

Both the institutes, for their MMS course, teach the same syllabus specified by the University of Mumbai. So, according to the content, there is no difference.
This is generally a good thing that you are specializing in something that roughly 4 to 5% of the batch will specialize in.
It is not as difficult for the placement committee to get companies with specific profiles.
The institutes have been there for a fairly long time and both have a steady pool of recruiters. Therefore, placements are not very problematic.
Having said that, placements depend on multiple factors, and nothing can be guaranteed.
K J Somaiya has more full-time faculty members whereas SIMSREE has more visiting faculty members. But cannot say the same about the operations specialization.

Irrespective of where you go, your responsibility is to get better, participate in competitions, do certifications, and improve yourself holistically. The institute cannot impose anything if you have no intention of doing it.
