Admission to PCET for the B.E. Aeronautical Engineering program is based on merit lists from higher education exams, with counseling conducted annually in Chennai by Anna University. The first-year tuition fee is Rs. 35,000, and the fee structure for merit students includes monthly tuition fees of Rs. 40,000, along with hostel and mess charges amounting to Rs. 32,000. A bus fee of Rs. 25,000 is also applicable. For management quota students, the annual fee is Rs.
50,000, subject to variation based on entry mode. The college offers financial assistance, including scholarships from trusts and government scholarships, but no direct scholarships are provided by the college itself. Placement opportunities are a concern, with a placement rate of about 60%. Companies like Athena Health, Quest Global Services, and IT firms are notable recruiters, with the highest salary package being Rs. 15 lakh per annum and an average package of Rs.
3.5 lakh per annum. Placement training begins in the third year, with partnerships for internships with organizations like NAL, GTRE, and CRI Pump. However, some students have expressed dissatisfaction with placement coordination and a lack of awareness about opportunities. The faculty comprises experienced professors, some with airforce backgrounds, and can teach in regional languages. The overall fee for Aeronautical Engineering is approximately Rs. 1.5 lakh, with a 5% increase every four years.
Although Coimbatore is relatively expensive, the college fees are lower than other local institutions. Students can also access education loans and community scholarships based on their category. While hostel facilities are satisfactory, there are calls for improved food quality.
