I chose it because, I had to do bcom, and Xavier's is reputed as the best one in kolkata i.e. my city for it. Everyone says it's the best in the city for bcom. I don't know if there are better colleges outside kolkata, in india, there must be, but I preferred to stay in my city for bcom.

Almuni and Brand name of St Xavier's college Kolkata makes it one of the reputed colleges of the city. Also it is positioned 7th best college in India. Faculty of the college is encouraging and various societies helps one to gain exposure and confidence.

This is the best college of my city and state and the seventh best college of the country. It was also my dream college. Everyone in kolkata and even neighbouring state dreams of going to St. Xavier's. The feeling of being a Xaverian is ecstatic.

To be honest i have heard a lot about St. Xavier's College kolkata. Also i had read lots of reviews and experiences which were great. The most difficult thing in this college was that they included the mathematics score in your best of four for bcom hons and honestly i was never sure about scoring in maths in my boards. So somewhere i felt that i would not be able to take admission here. But to my surprise i scored decently well in mathematics and was fortunate enough to grab admission here.

The college has a great reputation. It is one of the top 10 colleges in India. It not only provides a degree but also focuses on overall development of the students. Classes, seminars are interactive which help in personality development.
