I have not yet graduated but as far as i have seen placement opportunities are pretty good.
Students are very much dedicated to their works.you can enjoy lot of cultural and festival program.you can see so many responsibly students who dedicatly doing their works towards college.many notable alumini were studied here in stella maris.
The subjects were very easy as well as useful for the future careers

Dislikes

Eventhough the campus is full of trees and all it is very small compared to other colleges in chennai. There is no auditorium that can accomodate the entire students. It is really inconvenient sometimes.
Govt transport was not adequate and we had to stand for hours to board buses.
Stella was strict about students leaving earlier before the closing bell.

Getting into my college days again

Likes

Innovative and unique ways of assessment and teaching techniques
Safe, secured and eco friendly environment
College acquires sustainable development goals

Dislikes

Toilet facilities which is not same for each block. Some have good facilities but some has very poor infrastructure
Very less time for lunch and it is around 3 30 which is not convenient.
85 % mandatory attendance is very tough and difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

Social work department is always different from others. We have too many conferences, different types of sessions which is relevant and useful for our career, guest lectures and so on. We too have field works which is inseparable and much more important than theory. We have visited many ngos, we have been to rural camps and study tours.

Faculties were friendly to every students and they will also recommend things which are good to us.
Good teaching methods and I could able to learn in and out.
They are more conscious about cleanliness. In Canteens food was served with care .

Dislikes

Attendance percentage was too hard to maintain in need.

Placement Experience:

Many students from my class and in my entire college are placed in top MNC's. 1000 + students got placed in campus recruitment itself. Average package the company offers for a fresher would be 6LPA. I have a plan of doing masters.

Dislikes

Correction of answer scripts is strict like 10th std public exams
Regular working days in weekends and finishing of portions is late
College timings for shift 2 students is worst

The teaching methods of faculty is good. The curriculum that influenced this particular course is that, my aim is to do work in a marketing firm and do business in future. The management must focus on syllabus since the syllabus is so hectic

Good place for education

There are lot of cultural based opportunity
The syllabis is quite advance and Easy.
Thera are more than four canteen inside the hostel

Dislikes

Attendance should not be less than. 85% .

Placement Experience:

They are many companies are came to our college for placement and many of them placed in MNC companies like Zifo,zoho,TCS and accenture . Ghey also gave training for more than four days to get place .

Why stella is my second home

Likes

The staff here are very friendly and clear your doubts instantly.
The canteen is very hygienic and reasonably priced
The campus and the students are very chill and welcoming

Dislikes

Maintaining 85 attendance is a huge task
The corrections are strict in semester exams
The ventilation in the classroom is very bad

I would rate the course curriculum as highly relatable and comprehensive. The reason behind me choosing this particular course is the balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. The course is well aligned with the real time practices of the companies.

The life of a finearts student at Stella Maris

Likes

Well maintained classrooms and washrooms
Clean canteen areas and affordable prices
The campus is not so large so it's easier to walk around campus

Dislikes

The canteens don't sell water bottles as our college frowns upon plastic waste
Too much workload with insufficient time
Events and programs conducted in campus arent too great

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum teaches us the very basics of art and provides us with a scope into what taking up such a course will provide us with. Also, they show us the many different ventures you can go into with an art degree they sometimes do guest lectures and demos for practical work and this moreover enhances our college and study life

My academic journey at stella maris so far

Likes

Alot of exposure and many workshops related to the course
The academics is also excellent the teaching method is great
And internships in the first year itself during the first month

Dislikes

Very strict about the attendance and alot of protocols to go through
Has to study mandatory tamil in the 2nd semester
Not given much importance to our department

Our faculty professors are friendly and they will clear all our doubt
Our campus and infrastructure are very good especially our campus is full of greenery which will create a camful mind
Our placement opportunities are very good

Dislikes

Dress code are very strict as they are saying are very weird

From third year starting onwards you will get placement with an average package of 2,00,000 lpa as per the company .About 75 percentage of people are getting placement every year in their third year onward

The environment is great in our campus even though its a small campus
We have three to four canteens which has amazing foods too
We have stalls often that are put in the oat

Dislikes

The culturals are a little boring compared to other colleges
The attendance of 85% percentage is abit high I guess comparatively
And obviously we have a all girls college

Placements are very supportive to the students and percentage is to get above 65% then only we can apply for placements .Before we attending placements.college will conducting training program for 15 days so it's very useful to attend the placement and students will be have an idea
