Life at CET

Likes

The freedom that comes with being part of the government institution and having the opportunity to ask for changes from management if they took harmful decisions
Choices in project work were entirely ours and the guides are only there to help along the way and not dictate the project as a whole
There's a good boys to girls ratio in class

Dislikes

Faculty availability for subjects were scarce
Faculty were not helpful at all in the learning process all of it is self study
Study materials are not provided for learning

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not updated at all. We learn the same basics and math that people who graduated years ago learn. The curriculum by itself does not prepare you for real world applications, it's the project and other internship work you do that does that. Teaching methods can be improved and the course can be spanned out better so the exams are not so often close together.

Likes

The college have much experienced faculties.
Have library with wide range books and we can lend it
Eco friendly campus and extra curicular acivities

Dislikes

Do not have acesses to the premium e jornals
The college do not have proper uniforms other than lab uniform
The no ofcollege buses not according tothe strengtth of students

Placement Experience:

This college provide better placement opportunities compared to other engineering colleges in kerala. In Btetech more than 80 percentage student getting placement. Almost all reputed companies are visit CET for placement.

Likes

The collage and all Students are wise . The atmosphere is perfect environment for inproving all skills of an individual

Dislikes

The university affiliated to all these engineering colleges are not advanced, they are still primitive in nature, their syllabus and all are old and technical errors happening in their programs are pretty serious

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course curriculum happens to be better than many other courses because of advanced computerised opportunity, Unwanted algorithemic thinking should be removed from the algorithmic thinking with python subject, more focus should be given to python programming

Likes

The campus is very friendly and i like it very much
College supports all extracurricular activities and has a lot of clubs and resources that helps in them.
Events occur every now and then. So never get bored.

Dislikes

There is not much to say about what I disliked.
Sometimes get tired of lectures since our is bit theory oriented.
The college is very open to cultural programmes but sometimes i get tired of it!

Placement Experience:

Pur college is well known for its placements. A lot of students get placed in the college every year and so many good conpanies come here to recruit students. We have a strong campus placement cells which helps students to achieve better placements.

There is lot of placement options in our college
Many events conducted. And all can be participated in major of the events

Dislikes

The attendance system . If class is not there still we have to came and put signature to get the attendance.
Purified water shortage is there in college
Too much fee is to pay for the sem. Sometimes it can't afford.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very helpful to the students. And it is very relevant to the real world application. But sometimes the sem time is too short and the exam dates reach very quickly Sometimes we can't get enough time to prepare for the exam.

Beautiful infrastructure with vast campus
Lab facilities and library is very useful
Many scholarships are available for students

Dislikes

Less vacancies are available for students in hostels
Less vehicle parking facilities for students
No proper waste management in college campus

Placement Experience:

There are a lot of placement opportunities in the college.There is a dedicated CGPU unit to manage placement opportunity for the students.Multi National Companies like Oracle,Amazon, cognizant etc hires students every year

Likes

Good campus facilities,Clean surroundings.
Plenty of space and calm environment for social programms
Expertised teaching faculties and resources

Dislikes

Too much distance between departments to walk by foot.
Too many areas kept unexploited inside campus.
Lack of drinking water facilities in buildings.

Placement Experience:

As i mentioned before this college has high rate of campus placements from all over the countries.And the facilites for conducting recruitments are of high quality.The facilities connects the students to the companies in well organized manner and support the students to prepare well through conducting various placement training programms.

Likes

The students in the college is very friendly and like minded. Ragging is strictly prohibited inside the campus
There are many technical and non technical clubs present inside the campus helping students to develop and practice skills.
The college is well known for the events conducted. Freshers get to experience so many events and ice breaking sessions

Dislikes

The syllabus is affiliated to KTU and is not very updated. Its the same old syllabus and there is no much practical knowledge gained through the syllabus.
Lab facilities are poor compared to the reputation of the college. Many equipments are not properly working especially the connecting probes
Infrastructure is also poor compared to how good the college is ranked. Many buildings are very old including the classrooms.

Placement Experience:

The college is well known for the placements and salary packages it provides. Many companies of national and international standards offer placements with salary packages ranging from an average salary of 6,00,000 to 50,00,000. Some of the reputed companies that offer placements are Texas Instruments, Scheighder, Infosys, Technopark, Caterpillar, Oracle, Shobha Constructions, Tismo, Unacademy, etc.

CET- The dream engineering college of Keralites.

Likes

The college provides very good number of placements with quite decent salary packages compared to other state funded and private institutes in Kerala.Average salary packages range from 6,00000 to 9,00,000 and higher packages exceed up to 50,00,000
The campus life is very lively and enjoyable. Many big technical and cultural events including Dhwani and Dhrishti being one among the most popular events held in South India are conducted every year.
The campus has many number of technical and non technical clubs including RoboCet, AstroCet , Herakles racing club, etc which help students to improve and develop their technical and professional skills.

Dislikes

Even though it is one among the premier institutes in India and the number one government college in Kerala,the college lacks proper infrastructure. Many buildings are very old and the classrooms are not very good.
Lab facilities are poor and in some labs students have to wait to get properly working instruments. As for me since I am pursuing Btech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering,I must be extremely patient as probes an instruments work poorly
The professors are all well educated but many have poor teaching skills compared to their experiences. Many teachers lack communication skills and it is difficult to gather knowledge just from the classrooms alone.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements begins from the sixth semester onwards. Many reputed companies of national and international origin come for placements.This include Microsoft, Infosys, Technopark, Schneighder , Tesla , etc and provide good salary packages ranging from 6,00,000 to 50,00,000 lpa. Most students with no supplymentary exams during their course get placed in any one of the companies.

Dream Campus CET

Likes

Freedom and atmosphere of the campus with experienced faculty and alumni network.
Placement statitics and academical excellence
exposure to co curricular activities . So many clubs.entire facilities inside the college and the overall acjievements

Dislikes

Transportation at night seems to be difficult
stray dogs are there in the campus as it is so large
cleanliness issues inside the campus because of the size of such huge campus

Placement Experience:

More core companies and non core companies visit cet for campus placements. mostly from third year we can sit for placements. Highest packages varry with respect to companies and couses. mostly 60 to 70 % are placed and rest of them go for higher educations
