Sahyadri Science College Shimoga Faculty

The faculty to students ratio for major subjects such as botany chemistry and maths is 1:10 . The students can reach out teachers at anytime for clarification of their doubts some of the teachers are really interactive with the students Bachelor degree in science is 3 year programme with 2 semester every year. Each sem, students need to write 2 internals for theory and 1 internal for practical. The theory exam is of 100 marks. 60 for writing 20 for 2 internals and another 20 marks for assignment and seminary presentation. The lab exam is of 50 marks 10 for lab internal and 15 for practical record submission. The exams are conducted really strict but only 25 % of students get failed every year (for 2 semester) .

The teachers are good but they lack communication skills and they are unable to explain students the concepts, they don't have proper knowledge about the subject. The marking system for internals is 20 marks which includes projects, internals ,viva and assignments

They are with a bundle of knowledge.They motivate students in a brilliant way.They all students friendly,, loveable persons,, almost 100 of lectures are there they are all cenior most.And also guest lectures available.

The faculties are very good, each one were very much eager to help the students both in study and doing projects and class or in staff room. They all very knowledge persons and always keep them self updated with the topics of their subjects they always deliver a better knowledge which helps to student to give their best in examination.

The college has a great faculty backup. They are subject matter experts. Orientation towards industry is quite less. They are primarily exposed to the Subject and the contents, not the industry requirements for the survival of the candidates in the job market after completion of graduation.
