JIT offers B.E./B.TECH. – Regular and B.E./B.TECH. - Lateral Entry in 4 specializations. The program is in Full -Time mode with a duration of 4 years for B.E./B.TECH. Regular and 3 years for B. E./B.TECH - Lateral Entry.

Jeppiaar Institute of Technology B.E/B.Tech. Eligibility
The candidate should have passed the 12th of Tamil Nadu H.SC (Academic) or an Equivalent examination Recognized by Anna University with Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry. The Candidate should have passed Diploma Examination in engineering/Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training. Tamil Nadu or an Equivalent Examination for direct admission to Second year(Lateral Entry). Student can Join into our institution either Management Quota or Government Quota.
Candidates must fulfill the qualification eligibility given below:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates should pass the HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks: Candidate should obtain the 45% (General category), 40% (Backward class including backward class Musilm), 40% (MBC and DNC) and 40% (SC/ST/SCA).
- Subjects: Must pass with minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry together.
- A candidate should also pass with minimum average marks in related subjects, Vocational theory and Practical together.
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology B.E/B.Tech. Selection Criteria
The selection is done through the counselling process conducted by Anna University and JIT.
After considering the aggregate marks of the qualifying exam, the scores of Entrance Exam are taken into account and a merit list is prepared.
(i) Consortium of Self Financing Professional, Arts & Sciences Colleges in Tamil Nadu prepares the rank list for the Management Quota seats and
(ii) Anna University Chennai prepares the Rank List for the Government Quota seats.
Since “Jeppiaar Institute of Technology” is a Christian Minority Institution, 50% of the admission is done through Government Quota Seats and 50% of the admission is done through Management Quota Seats.

Jeppiaar Institute of Technology Scholarships
1. Merit Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to meritorious students, based on their academic performance at the qualifying examinations for fresher´s, and in the case of senior students, their performance during the previous academic year.
2. Waiver of Tuition Fee
First year students of Jeppiaar Institute who secure the highest marks in the Plus Two examinations have their entire tuition fee waived for the first academic year. Similarly, senior students are offered scholarships on the basis of their previous year's performance
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
Every academic year, several scholarships are awarded on the criteria of merit-cum-means. Academic performance and demonstrated economic need are the key criteria for this scholarship (Cash Awards, Gold Coins, LAPTOPS, Sponsorships for the Latest Software and Hardware Courses of the meritorious students interest).
Sports Scholarship
Sports scholarships are awarded to students with an outstanding record in sports. Typically, students who have participated in National and International level competitions conducted by accredited Sports Boards are eligible for these scholarships.
This scholarship include a waiver of tuition fees, free hostel stay and boarding grant towards living expenses and an allowance for books based on their Participation and Performance in sports in their period of Study.
