National Institute of Fashion Technology , kannur (NIFT) is located in Kerala , south india. It is a govt college founded under ministry of textile, govt of india. I belong to kerala state so this college was my first choice and i give the entrance exam and alloted Fashion Technology course.

Well the management is not that great because students don’t hold a lot of rights. Recently we social media guidelines were released by our college where we cannot discuss or defame the college or we shall be thrown out of the college- this is really upsetting

If you speak about college management the faculty is lack a bit in communication but yet they try their best. the decisions taken in the college are pretty late. The infrastructure and other college management is amazing it is very smooth.

The admission process is based on entrance examination. You need to complete your 10+2 examination from a recognized board and apply online for the NIFT entrance examination. If you meet the college's cut off percentage then the college will call you for the counselling round. After the counselling round the students are requested to select the course and college in which they want to study further. Only 30 seats are there.

All NIFT aspiring students have to pass a NIFT entrance exam. For admission in B.des they have to clear CAT and GAT and then a situation test. Those you clear all three will get admission here. And for masters course, a group discussion or personal interview is also held.

NIFT admission for Bachelor courses is done on the basis of your score in CAT and GAT exam. Shortlisted students then have to appear to a Situation test. For Post-graduation, admission is based on entrance exam and GDPI. You must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board to get admission here.

To get admission in NIFT, you have to give an entrance exam of CAT and GAT which tests your creative and general ability. If you pass these tests then for bachelors a situation test is taken and for masters a group discussion and personal interview is held. Those you pass all these are selected.

After completing my 12th standard from a Science background, I decided to go for fashion designing due to my impeccable sense of designing clothes and accessories in leisure time. After doing online registration and filling a form, I had to appear for NIFT entrance exam, I met the cut-off expectations of NIFT and was invited for counselling round after which I met the cut-off expectation again and was asked to choose the college along with the course.

The students meeting the cut off percentage in the entrance are eligible for the counselling round. If they you are through in the counselling round you will be eligible to choose the course and the college in which you want to study further. The application mode is completely online. For B.Des. In Textile Designing there is only 30 seats.
