College of Agriculture Nagpur Admission FAQs

Ques. What is the level of competitiveness of admission in College of Agriculture, Nagpur?

Ans. Students are admitted and recognized through a centralized system and entrance examinations. For PG courses, students are required to take either MCAER PG CET or MAH CET. After passing the test, candidates undergo multiple rounds of counselling to get their seat. At the UG entry, students receive seats based on merit in the 10+2 Science subjects and therefore require an academic record that is going to allow success and secure a seat.

Ques. Why are entrance examinations important for admission to PG courses?

Ans. Entrance examinations like MCAER PG CET and MAH CET are valuable in gauging the students' knowledge in the subject area and the aptitude to conduct higher studies in Agriculture. They provide a common platform for the students of Maharashtra to sit for the same examination. The demand for PG seats often exceeds availability, and therefore, the entrance examinations allow for the selection of deserving candidates and clearly provide transparency and competitiveness amongst students.

Ques. How does the counselling system operate in the admission process?

Ans. There are multiple rounds of counselling that take place after the merit list is published. Candidates go through the counselling process and select a specialization based on rank, eligibility, and preference for the specialization. If the student does not confirm the allocated seat by a specified time, it will be allocated to the next eligible candidate and will be able to access the opportunity.
