IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced exam on 17 May 2026. The registration will begin on 23 April 2026 at 10 am on their official website, jeeadv.ac.in.

What is JEE Advanced?

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is a national-level entrance examination conducted for students seeking admission to IITs in India.

  • Both papers will be conducted in CBT mode, consisting of 17 questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics respectively.

Ques. If I passed Class 12 in 2025, am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2026 even if I had failed or dropped a year?

Ans. Yes, but only under some circumstances; it depends on the official eligibility rules for JEE Advanced.

  • If you have appeared for Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 then you can apply for JEE Advanced 2026 even if you have not cleared your previous attempt or taken a year drop.
  • Only those candidates who have appeared in 2024 or before are not eligible for JEE Advanced.

Ques. If I reappear only in some subjects of Class 12, can I still use the top 20 percentile criterion?

Ans. No, if you reappear in only some subjects in Class 12 (for improvement), you will not be able to qualify for the top 20 percentile.

  • The Class 12 improvement exam should also be cleared to be eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.
  • For that, you must reappear in all subjects; partial improvements in some subjects are not allowed for qualifying via percentile.

Ans. For the JEE Advanced 2026 registration, there are some important documents required:

  • Primary Document: You must upload your 2025 improvement exam marksheet during the JEE Advanced 2026 registration.
  • Supporting Documents: Along with the Class 12 marksheet 2025, you should upload your 2024 original Class 12 Marksheet.
  • Calculation of Best Marks: For the subjects where you have appeared for improvement, the best marks will be considered either from the 2024 or 2025 exams.
