Punjab Board has released the updated exam pattern for PSEB 10. As per the latest exam pattern, the exams will be conducted across two terms. The PSEB Exam Pattern provided here will help students to understand better the subject-wise marking as well as section-wise marking in each paper.
- The exam will be conducted from 10 PM for a duration of 1.5 hours.
- The exams for Punjabi (A), Punjabi (B), Punjab History & Culture (A & B) subjects will be conducted for 2 hours.
- An additional 15 minutes will be provided to the candidates to fill the OMR sheets.
- Punjab State Education Board will charge a fee of Rs. 300/- from Class 10 students for providing them with the hard copies of their PSEB Class 10 Board exam results and passing certificates.

PSEB 10th Exam Pattern 2023
PSEB will conduct the exams for classes 5, 8, 10, and 12 in two different terms. First-term will be conducted between November – December and the second term will be conducted between February-March 2023. Question paper for both the terms will be sent by the board and each term will cover 50% of the syllabus. As per the reports, the question paper will be prepared from the question bank that will be made available on the official board page.
The term-1 exam will consist of only multiple-choice questions. The exam will be organized only for main subjects and no grade or practical subjects will be conducted. The specially-abled students will receive the same question paper as the regular students and the exam will be held at the school level. Term-2 will consist of a question paper based on short and long answer questions.

PSEB 10th Board Exam Application 2023
- Regular Students: In the case of regular students the school will take care of the application process. You will be informed about the dates and fees structure about the application process.
- Private Students: If you're a private student, studying by yourself and want to give the exam, you will have to apply it on your own through the PSEB official website.

- Order of sections may interchange. And the marking system may vary.
- All the questions in the PSEB question paper should be answered. There is no choice in any of the sections or questions.
- All the subjects' weightage is 100 marks each out of which 80 marks are the theory marks and the rest 20 marks are for practical and internal assessments.
- However, Punjabi or Punjab History and culture are conducted in 2 parts – Paper A and Paper B. Each of these papers weigh 75 marks in total out of which 65 is for theory and 10 marks for practical and internal assessments.
- The exam duration is 3 hours for all the subjects.

The assessment of computer science will be done at the board level, whereas the elective, prevocational, or NSQF subjects will be assessed at the school level. Also, students can choose one subject from the elective, prevocational, or NSQF subjects list given above.

PSEB Class 10 Exam Preparation Tips
The Preparation tips for PSEB Class 10th Exam Students are given below:
- Follow PSEB prescribed textbooks. E-textbooks are available online on the PSEB website. Make a proper timetable and prepare consistently.
- Revising the whole syllabus at least 2 or 3 times in the last 3 months before the exam is essential for being thorough with the chapters.
- Understand the concepts in order to learn to apply them.
- Solve as many exercises as possible in order to make yourself thorough.
- Concentration during the practice sessions is very important in order to know the concepts by heart.
- Refer to previous years' question papers to understand the paper patterns. You can also use these papers for practice purposes.
- Solve the model papers. While doing this, try to keep a watch before you and complete it within 3 hours of time. This will help you as an exam simulator and help you to gain speed to give the board exams efficiently within the stipulated time.
