The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is gearing up to conduct the Class 12 Second Board Exam (Compartment Exam) 2026 in July 2026. Here is everything you need to know about the expected date sheet, eligibility criteria, and the application process through cbse.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students who appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2026 in February–March 2026.
  • Must be enrolled in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  • Eligible for Compartment Exam if:
    • Failed in one or two subjects.
    • Were absent in one or more subjects.
  • Students failing in more than 2 subjects must repeat the year.

How to Apply (Process for Schools)

  1. Log in to cbse.gov.in using school credentials.
  2. Navigate to 'LOC Submission for Class XII Second Board Exam 2026'.
  3. Enter details of eligible students.
  4. Pay the examination fee online.
  5. Submit LOC before the deadline.
  6. Download the confirmation receipt.

Important Notes

  • LOC submission is the school’s responsibility- students cannot apply directly.

  • Students must carry their admit card and a valid photo ID on exam day.
  • Only the theory paper needs to be re-appeared; internal assessment marks from the main exam are carried forward.
