CENTAC Releases Revised Vacancies for UG NEET 2024

The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education in the Government of Puducherry has released the revised list of open seats under undergraduate medical courses for the 2024-2025 academic year. It is learned that the list contained seats for the government quota, management quota, Christian minority, Telugu minority, and NRI seats in all medical institutions in Puducherry, which includes MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and BVSc & AH programmes.

Government Quota Seats

The revised vacancies for government quota seats include:

MBBS Programmes are available in many colleges, such as Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (IGMC&RI), Puducherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital, and Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College & Research Institute.

IGMC&RI: 4 seats (general and reserved categories).
PIMS: 1 seat for ST.
SMVMC&H: 1 general seat.
SVMC&RI: 4 seats (general and BT categories).

BDS Programs: Government quota seats are available in colleges like Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences (MGPGIDS), MINDS, and Sri Venkateshwaraa Dental College (SVDC), with a total of 33 vacant seats across these institutions.

MGPGIDS: 6 seats across different categories.
MINDS: 17 seats for general and reserved categories.
SVDC: 9 seats for general and category candidates.

BAMS (Ayurveda): Rajiv Gandhi Ayurveda Medical College (RGAMC) has a total of 14 vacancies.

RGAMC: Seats are available across multiple categories including general, OBC, and SC.

Management Quota Seats

MBBS Programs:

SMVMC&H: 7 seats available.

BDS Programs:

MGPGIDS: 18 seats.
MINDS: 33 seats.
SVDC: 4 seats.

Christian and Telugu Minority Quotas

The vacancies for Christian and Telugu minority quotas include:

Christian Minority Quota:

PIMS offers 69 seats for MBBS under the Christian Minority Quota.

Telugu Minority Quota:

SVMC&RI has 120 seats available for MBBS.
SVDC offers 50 seats for BDS.

NRI Quota Seats

The NRI quota has vacancies in various courses:

MBBS Programs:

IGMC&RI, SMVMC&H, and SVMC&RI each have 37 seats.
PIMS offers 1 seat.

BDS Programs:

MGPGIDS has 3 available seats.

Additional Notes

One MBC is reserved seat in the SMVMC&H for which it is still pending the final disposal of a legal matter in W.P No.22908 of 2024 and WMP No.24946 & 24949 of 2024.

The remanufactured vacant seats are designed to enable a large number of aspiring medical students from different quotas the much-needed admission opportunities in different sections of the community. This would further simplify the seat matrix for applicants seeking admission in Round 3 counseling.
