New Delhi: Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released guidelines for persons with benchmark disabilities/ persons with disabilities (PWDs)/ Specially Abled Persons (SAPS) who are preparing to appear for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2024).
As per the official notice, the candidates who are ‘persons with benchmark disability’ will be given extra time in CLAT 2024 exam. In addition to this, candidates with “specified disabilities” will be provided with scribe/reader assistance to help them with the admission test.
The CLAT 2023 registration process is open for both CLAT UG and PG for eligible candidates on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in from July 01, 2023. Candidates can submit their online application form along with the required documents by November 03, 2023.

CLAT 2024 Guidelines for Aspirants
Check the new guidelines released for candidates appearing for CLAT 2024 mentioned below:
Scribe Assistance: Candidates with a benchmark disability (not less than 40%) or “specified disabilities” can avail of the facility of requesting a scribe/ reader at the exam center. Such candidates must carry the required certificates for the same.
Criteria for Scribe Assistance (CLAT UG 2024): To avail of the facility for CLAT 2024 exam, the scribe should not have completed their class 11th qualification and must not be affiliated with any organization or exam coaching centre.
Criteria for Scribe Assistance (CLAT PG 2024): The scribe should not have completed more than the 12th grade and they must not be affiliated with any organization or exam coaching centre.

Extra Time: Candidates who are ‘persons with benchmark disability’ will be given compensatory time of 40 (forty) minutes. Their total exam duration will be 2 (two) hours and 40 (forty) minutes.
Documents Required: Candidates who are entitled to extra time need to carry their required certificates at CLAT 2024 exam centre. The documents required to avail of the facilities at the exam center are mentioned in the official notification available on the examination portal.
