New Delhi: It is reported by the National Testing Agency that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2024) will be conducted in hybrid mode from 2024 onwards to give equal opportunity to candidates from rural areas to take the exam closer to their hometown.

Since the introduction of CUET UG, the exam has been conducted online in Computer Based Test (CBT format). UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said, “Subjects with higher registration will have the test conducted using the OMR sheet instead of the Computer Based Test (CBT) format. In this way, we can conduct the exam for those specific subjects on one day and in one shift for all candidates in the country.”

CUET UG registration will likely begin on February 19, and the examination will be held between May 15 and May 31, 2024. According to Kumar, the exam will be conducted in three shifts on each exam day: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The number of subjects a candidate can choose will be cut from ten to six. “Since few students were picking from a large number of choices, the allotment of centers became quite difficult. Since our data shows that most students were taking only 4 to 5 papers, we will permit students to take a maximum number of six test papers, which would include three domain subjects, two languages, and a general test,” said Kumar.

In CUET Exam Pattern 2024, the question paper consists of the following four sections.

Candidates can attempt the entrance test in 13 languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Ques. What will be the marking scheme for CUET 2024?

Ans. CUET exam 2024 will have multiple choice questions. Students need to choose one correct answer from the five options given. For every correct answer students will be allotted +5 marks and for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. There will not be any marking for unanswered questions.
