Delhi Govt Opens Scholarships 2025–26 for SC, ST, OBC Students; Benefits Up to ₹20 Lakh, Apply by April 30

The Delhi Government has announced that five state-funded schemes, along with several centrally sponsored schemes, are open for eligible students across schools, colleges, and universities in the capital.

Delhi Govt Scholarship 2025–26

The Delhi Government has invited applications for multiple scholarship schemes for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and the Other Backwards Classes (OBC) for the academic session 2025–26.

According to the official notification, both state-funded and centrally sponsored schemes are being offered to support students across school, college, and university levels. The last date to apply is April 30, 2026.

Fee Support for School Students

As part of its school-level support initiatives, the government will reimburse tuition fees and other compulsory charges for SC, ST, and OBC students studying in Classes 1 to 12 in recognised schools in Delhi.

The benefit is available to students whose family income does not exceed ₹3 lakh annually. In addition, students must meet prescribed academic performance and attendance requirements.

Merit-Based Scholarship for Higher Education

To support students pursuing higher education, the government has introduced a merit scholarship scheme covering professional, technical, and academic courses.

Eligible students can receive financial assistance ranging between ₹8,000 and ₹24,000 per year, depending on the course and accommodation status. Candidates must secure at least 60% marks in the previous academic year to qualify.

₹25,000 Award for Top Performing Students

Under the Dr BR Ambedkar State Topper Award, meritorious students from SC, ST, and OBC categories will be awarded ₹25,000 for securing top positions in their respective disciplines at the university level.

Financial Aid Under Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana

The Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana aims to support school students by providing:

  • ₹5,000 per year for students in Classes 9 and 10
  • ₹10,000 per year for students in Classes 11 and 12

The scheme is subject to income and academic eligibility conditions.

Support for Higher Studies Abroad

The Delhi government is also offering financial assistance to SC students who wish to pursue higher education abroad at the postgraduate and doctoral levels.

Under this scheme, selected candidates may receive:

  • Up to ₹5 lakh per year
  • Up to ₹10 lakh for master’s programmes
  • Up to ₹20 lakh for PhD programmes

These benefits are subject to income limits, age criteria, and other eligibility requirements.

How to Apply?

Students can submit their applications through the official e-district portal. Authorities have advised candidates to carefully check the eligibility criteria and upload all required documents before submission.

The last date to apply for all scholarship schemes is April 30, 2026. Students are encouraged to complete the application process well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.
